I posted an item on 24 May. The buyer needed it quickly and asked, but did not pay for,the speediest delivery, it was a dinner jacket needed for Friday 28th.
On 09 July (yes, July) they have decided that they never received it. Its a full three piece suit, so not easy to miss - or lose.
I no longer have the proof of posting, I have simply mislaid it.
I know that the seller has no protection with ebay, and the buyer just has to ask and they will be refunded.
I have no choice but to shut both my ebay and paypal account before I lose the money.
How is this fair?
Buyers only have 30 days after estimated delivery date to open useable cases on ebay. After that they can still open one but won't be able to escalate it to ebay. It will eventually expire. They have longer with Paypal (180 days from date of payment) but may not realise they can open a case there.
Unfortunately even if you managed to close your accounts (ebay would not allow it due to recent transaction) ebay use debt collectors to get anything owed but hopefully it won't come to that.
