private listing - bidder identity protected, why/what does this mean on a bidding lot

It means the seller has selected to hide bidders' identities.   A bit redundant these days when no one can see other bidders' IDs anyway.  You used to be able to and that's when sellers used it more often.

So that means that my ID is hidden from other bidders, if so thanks for the info.
