How can you trust the site... ok EBAY and PAYPAL are now no longer one but my latest experiences have not been good... item sold but the bidder failed to pay and failed to communicate quickly - did apologised though.
Best of all item sold (real bargain for the successful bidder) payment received and item sold. Weeks later I am told that the purchaser was not the account holder so the money paid using the account holders PAYPAL account would be taken from my account, including the cost of postage.
It is a bit strange to think that paypal can take money from your vredit card and refund someone... who wrote me the following
louiseagar2011:
Hi my account was compromise so it wasn't me Hugh received this item someone I was living with used my eBay account and also my bank card so the bank was noteavied and also PayPal and eBay sorry if u have been cheated out of any thing
Sent from my iPhone
when I asked for further information (I didnt think that security of her EBAY account and PAYPAL account was my responsibility) the next reply reads as follows:
I can't do nothing as the person has left the country now and they were only staying temporary at that address it wasn't only u they ripped off there was other sellers to ..so sorry for u trouble.
So in my books this means I am actually paying for someone stealing from this EBayer.... if it actually happened as above (bearing in mind that neither EBay or PAYPAL have given me any concrete information to support their decision to take my money. This happened weeks after the sale and was unexpected - a warning to other EBayers!
Best wishes
Estelle
Sounds like an unauthorised payment claim and if you supply PayPal with proof of postage [or proof of delivery] to the address PayPal gave you on the payment confirmation you will get the funds back.
