The buyer did not recognise the transaction and opened dispute,
I've been charged £14.00 fees on top of having to refund buyer and they've kept the item.
Ebay does not allow sellers to put there case forward unlike paypal so because it was a low cost item we don't buy tracking. Ebay was only interested in a tracking number and settled in buyers favour.
Buyer lying and claiming they didn't open case.
I'm so unhappy with losing nearly £20 for no reason.
**** Edit - Spoken with Ebay who have partially sorted this out and I'm 80% happier with the outcome. Thank you to all who commented.
To win any dispute you have to send tracked and if you dont send tracked then you always have to allow for problems like this
If you send 2nd class and it is a packet rather than a letter size then it has the 16 digit code on the reciept from the Post office
that acts as tracked. You always put that onto the item in your Sold section
No tracking you have to refund that is ebay policy
As you say on paypal they look more carefully but you still have to have tracking
Even paypal will refund the buyer if there is no tracking
