Hello I have been using the Royal Mail Post Boxes to send parcels as all the Post Offices are closed, I called the Royal Mail and tried to explain this to them and they refused and put the phone down on me, I have now switched to Hermes. I am just wondering is there anything I can do to get compensation without proof of postage, I think my customers packages are still at my local sorting office as some of them have been delivered as far as Scotland and there is one that is still not delivered and is a five minute drive from the sorting office. Thank you for reading this and I hope you all stay safe.
Kind regards,
Thomas.
I am not sure where you got your information from about post offices
Post offices and Royal Mail are working as usual
There are delays as is to be expected at this time with the Covid-19 virus
Read the ebay Green box on Covid-19 at the top of most pages
As we mentioned, delivery drop off points (so newsagents, distribution facilities, convenience stores etc) are still open for sellers to send goods, and buyers to return parcels. Please do ensure, though, that you adhere to social distancing guidelines while visiting any of these sites and try and keep these to an absolute minimum.
Why havent you got the proof of postage/receipts (which have a 16 digit code for tracking)
You should always keep them at least 12 months in case of chargeback on ebay
You should put that tracking/code on the item in your Sold section straight away
With those receipts you could have claimed for lost items
Without them then why would Royal Mail take your word for it.
Good luck with Hermes
Royal Mail is much more reliable.
