Returned item lost in transit by Royal Mail

Hi comments please on a returned item of some 17.5kilos lost by Royal Mail.

A P58 claim forwarded to Royal Mail requires  ( Proof of posting evdence ) from me the sender but  Royal Mail do not provide in other words they are asking for something that they do not provide.

Also Royal Mail say they do not scan and provide tracking for 2nd class parcels and so the returns labels  provided by E bay with a Bar code are a waste of time.

Royal Mail state that as the seller will be paying the cost of the return he and only he can claim for compensation.

It is my view that until i receive a refund as promised the said parcel was my property and therefor my claim for the parcels whereabouts and compensation should stand.

This whole affair is driving me nuts and i continue to stand a possible loss of  £156.95.

Help and advice will be appreciated.

Your post is a bit confusing

Even if Royal Mail did scan the barcode it is questionable if RM would pay out

An item that is worth £150 should be returned by an appropriate method of postage to cover the compensaiton

2nd class only covers items up to £20

You needed to send it by an appropriate method and then you would of recieved a tracking number

No matter who sent it without a tracking number or proof of postage RM would not pay out

The only thing you can hope is it is returned to you. Did you put a return address on the item
