How do you best get eBay to chase a refund not received from a seller?

Have you opened case, if not do it now.

Make sure tracking is uploaded to case & escalate case on day 9.

Wont let me open a case as it says ‘you have not purchased this item yet’ (and yet payment has been taken).

Can you please let me know the item number? Did you pay for the item using PayPal or as PayPal Guest?

Hi Sarah, item number: 302396069625. Seller was unable to supply the product advertised - but very quick to take payment for it (20th Nov). I paid via credit card using the eBay system. I have not received any refund as yet although they say one was issued. How about informing any prospective buyer that an item is not available before taking payment?? I strongly suggest that if an item is out of stock, it is removed from a seller’s page before these problems are able to occur. Wastes a lot of time & energy chasing unreliable sellers. Alan Wilder

Hi, thank you for providing the details. When you pay by credit card this is processed via PayPal Guest. I can see your refund has been issued and I have sent you a PM with more details as it is account specific.

You are unable to open a case as a refund has already been issued. I understand the wording is not very clear and I will pass on feedback in relation to this.
