Why is eBay Stating Sellers can choose what payment method they accept from buyers, like Cheques, Postal Orders payment on collection, then State to the Seller:They MUST Use PayPal a compnany owned by eBay as their Only payment method? is this Fraudulent Misrepresentation by eBay? If I lived in Germany or America I could use eBay S.a.r.l as my Payment method,Why not in the UK? Discrimination by eBay? I need some answers from eBay,but they REfuse to answer my concerns?
then State to the Seller:They MUST Use PayPal a compnany owned by eBay as their Only payment method?
EBay has never said that sellers must use PayPal as their only payment method. What it says is that sellers must accept PP, if that's how the buyer wishes to pay. They can also accept other methods of payment, but must not express a preference for them, and must not refuse to accept PP. (PP is the only method of payment which made the transaction eligible for eBay's money back guarantee.) The theory is that eBay can't offer this guarantee unless it can monitor the payment history, as it can with PP.
All this is changing with the phased introduction of managed payments. This will qualify purchases for eBay's money back guarantee if paid through eBay's checkout, using PayPal or PayPal Credit, a credit card, debit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
How this is going to work is beyond me. I can't imagine that debit and credit card issuers are going to make customers' payment history accessible to eBay, so how will payment or non-payment be verified? In any case, it would seem to remove any justification for continuing to insist that sellers must accept PP.
Paypal is rightly viewed by sellers as dangerous for collection. Cash is so delightful in that the seller does not ahve to pay PPs 3%. The problem is that a buyer collecting something can simply deny that it was him but as the seller cannot prove delivery [by tracking] PP would refund.
EBay has brought in a partial solution in that the buyer gives the seller a code to enter
you can accept any payment methods but at the moment you must also offer paypal, you cannot say no paypal
all UK sellers are being moved over to managed payments, once this happens you won't have to offer paypal
Paypal is not now owned by eBay [it used to be]. There are changes afoot but previously to be covered by eBay's money back guarantee buyers had to pay by Paypal which could only happen if the seller offered PP

No one here works for eBay. We are members like you and try - successfully in most cases - to give advice as to how to solve problems within eBay's system.
"Kudos" is from the Greek and are usually offered in response to an exceptional achievement by other members. It is not a member's name or ID
Paypal has been linked to eBay as far back as I remember! It is perfectly acceptable to sell a collection item for cash as the buyer [to whom you give the address to collect] and the buyer [hopefully] looks carefully at the item to make sure there are no problems for thereafter he has no come back.
Sellers do however - under eBay rules - need to "offer" Paypal for collection. It is a bad idea in that the buyer can lie and say [to PP] that he did not receive it. As the seller cannot prove by tracking that the item was delivered the seller would have to refund [or Paypal would]. EBay has tried to address this in some measure by giving the buyer [in some cases] a PIN code which the seller puts into the selling page. After that there is no hope of a refund for non-delivery. There should be no hope of a not as described case/refund. In normal cases where the seller sends the item there is no protection for either buyer or seller if Paypal is not used. This may change with direct payments.
You can't sell on Ebay while it is mandatory for sellers to have a PayPal account, because you have been banned by PayPal. I think that probably explains your attitude to
them, but please stay polite to us.
We have no idea why there are different payment rules on different countries sites, and it seems ebay won't tell you either.
