Is there genuinely nothing I can do if a buyer claims no item received and I have no tracking number??
I'm afraid there's absolutely nothing you can do if you don't read and follow the conditions for seller protection.
If you had uploaded a tracking or delivery number after posting the item, and this confirmed delivery to the buyer's address, eBay would have supported you. Provided, of course, that you had monitored your account online whilst away, because if you didn't respond to the case you would have lost anyway.
If you still have a postal receipt you may be able to claim compensation from Royal Mail for lost post. It's it's important to notify them of lost post anyway; if they receive multiple claims relating to the same delivery address they can start to monitor deliveries.
YOu have things all wrong here.
You dont have to be haggled down. The buyer made an offer and you decided to accept it
You did not have to do that
It is up to you to send by the method of postage that covers you and you charge that on your listings
You should always leave plenty of time when going on holiday for any disputes to be sorted out.
Tracking is for your benefit and not the buyers and ebay policy is that if you send tracked or with the 16 digit code off 1st or 2nd class packets then you put it onto the item in your sold section straight away as soon as you post
If it shows Delivered then you win
If not then you refund and claim off RM or the courier for the lost item and get your money back and the postage from them
I dont think your language about the seller does you any justice as you do not know and can not prove they received the item
If they have been refunded then that is the end of it there is nothing you can do on ebay or paypal
Was it a packet?.
Did it have the 16 digit code?
Sellers can not leave bad feedback for buyers and you may have picked up a black mark when ebay removed yours
OK......first thing you cannot accuse the buyer of anything........they may not have received it !!
Second.....tracked post is there to protect YOU the seller not the buyer........a buyer is fully protected no matter what postal service you use.........you do not offer the option.....in addition not using the correct postal service means you can only claim a book of stamps from Royal Mail as compensation.....
Without tracking YOU CANNOT DISPUTE A CASE
Finally you should never sell items when planning a holiday....listings should be ended 10 days before you go so that such issues can be resolved
If you post an item small packet size or above & buy your post over the counter at the PO or from eBay then your label includes a FREE delivery confirmation code which can be added to eBay....once this shows delivered a buyer cannot win a case for non delivery

Other than refund the buyer and make a claim to Royal Mail for a lost package then no. And RM will only accept a claim if you have a proof of posting receipt.
Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment.
You're the buyer. You pay the seller money upfront for one of their items and it doesn't arrive, what would you do?
Would you expect them to refund you? I would guess the answer would be yes.
Would you expect them to call you liar? I would guess the answer would be no.
And if they did how would you respond?
"Lying buyer claims item not received"
How do you know?
Cany ou prove it?
If you can prove it then by following eBay rules you would have won the case.
always best to know the rules, for example, you could have got the neg removed, but it's most likely too late now.
Freedom of speech is a myth.
You're a member of a website with rules that you agree to abide by when you join - you broke one of those rules - so your feedback was removed.
eBay aren't trying to deny your ''rights'' - they're trying to remind you that you signed a contract and you should keep your word.
