Item returned - No refund issued

Hi.
I have asked eBay to intervene and explained that I have returned a faulty item (I have proof of posting). The seller said in an email Via eBay messages, that they would refund the amount paid. I returned the item but no refund was issued and the seller didn’t respond to my last email.
I asked eBay to intervene. They said they found in my favour and would refund on the return of the item.
Problem is, I’ve already returned it over a week before I opened a dispute. I don’t have it, the seller does.
Who do I contact to tell them I can’t carry out their instruction as it’s already been returned? I’ve tried a ‘return email’ but no joy.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
