 And still lot's of fees !!!!! making me loosing money on ebay!! Including after a fake user did not pay, so had to wait 4days snd relist -and ebay still charged me for listing fees?!?!)

it's free to 'list' that means it is free to place the advert, but if the item sells you are charged a final value fee,

if you add extras to the listing you are charged fees for those as well

This promotion is completely meaningless. What is the promotion, what is the offered value there? How much is money can be saved there? Come on! This is clearly all for misleading sellers. The item at the payment called listing fee (not commission!) so it’s a fee for listing which was claimed to be free.

You have been adding a sub title, this is not free & costs £2.00 each time. Only the basic 35p listing fee is free, you agreed these fees when you tick box that says "list with fees shown".

If you click on the link here is a link on the 1000 free listings promotion which takes you to the page and tells you upgrades to the basic listings are chargeable. We are lucky to be given anything for free. When you listed it tells you just before you submit your listing how much that listing will cost. My point is that this promotion of “free listing” has no real value if it’s implemented this way. You can show your item for free, but this platform is simply about selling. Where the charge applies it’s called “Reseve price listing fee” (other extras at least clearly communicated) but my main cost is that… I don’t really need free listing, but super annoyed this purposely misleading promotion. If a platform honestly want to encourage it’s users to do something, the right way is to offer something valuable. This “free listing” offer doesn’t do that. To be honest this whole thing is nowhere as frustrating as the slow payout (it used to be instant with paypal and now it’s 2days processing?!)

Its not a very good point. Of course it has value. If you did not get them then you would have to pay 35p for every listing you put on ebay. If they did not sell you would still pay the listing fees.

What a strangely bias defence is this?! Are you hired by ebay? The value of that 35p is insignificant (COMPARED to other charges and the final costs of using the platform!!) Ebay knows exactly how much it makes in average on sellers, so they are fully aware that this promotion hold no real value. BTW listing should be more expensive than most added extras. Listing takes storage space because of the pictures, bandwidth costs for uploading, editing,… these activities generate costs on the operator side. Subtitles, reserved pricing, … these are way less costly for the site-and still the extras are the ones sellers get charged significantly more. So no. The 35p (free listing offer) is not an honest value based promotion.

Yet another poster who either does not read the heading of this thread where it says Member to member support or when they dont get the reply they want accuse us of being ebay staff. No we are not employed by ebay we give our time free to rely to members who have a problem. If your problem is you do not agree with the fees or the way the site is run then perhaps you should try putting your point to ebay. You can contact them at the top of the page under seller help and scroll down for contact details. The 35p may be insignificant to you but to others it is a way of listing for free. Your point of view is well out of step with members we see coming on here.
