Do I have to change my method of payment and receiving payment? I prefer to stay with PayPal but doesn't look as though I'm being given that option.

You have no choice, if you don't use Managed payments then you can't sell as you would never get paid.
Managed Payments works fine, nothing to be scared of, I have opted to receive money on a weekly basis, arrives promptly on Tuesday with all money (less fees) received up To the SUNDAY.
Paypal can still be used for buying, but does not go to seller's paypal account ,that is the main difference. System explains itself well, just read everything until you are familiar with procedure.
Fees are deducted before going to your bank,they are now 12.8% + a fixed 30p and nopaypal fee so costs a very little less. Money going to your bank will be marked as Ayden, which is the Company that runs Managed payments for ebay.
