Buyer wants to cancel after winning item

This has happened to me twice recently.  Buyer wins, payment is delayed then buyer messages me to say they have bought another one and now want to cancel mine.   I then have to either realist with fees or forget it.

Is there anything I can do or just forget it.

You dont just forget it

You want your fees back and the buyer needs to know they can not get away with this.

If they did not pay then see the link to the annoucement about the new non payment cancellation

You wait 4 days and during that time ebay will email your buyer and remind them

After 4 days you can give them their wish and cancel.

You get your fees back and ebay may ask if you want to relist or you can relist

Do not just forget it,  because you have paid an immediate seller fee when that item sold,  it is charged then,  and not when the buyer pays you,  so you need to retrieve those.

You have several choices now how to proceed to retrieve those fees, and finalise the transaction.

You can cancel the order from More Actions right of the item sold selecting Buyer requests to cancel, but the buyer here has to accept it, if they do not, you have to wait 10 days to close the request yourself. Seller fees then are refunded. Relist the item if you wish.

You can now cancel the order stating buyer has not paid after 4 days. Seller fee will be refunded, and the item is automatically relisted, unless you request otherwise.

The buyer now, can issue you with a cancellation request. You have 3 days to accept. Fees refunded, seller performance not affected, item is then free to relist.
