Buyer paid well over the odds for item, now I'm worried

Hi guys,

I need some advice.

I have recently sold a PS5 on eBay and it went for over £900, however eBay is currently flooded with the same item for around £650, all from reputable sellers - so naturally alarm bells are ringing. I started the listing at about £300, I wasn't after someone paying a ridiculous price - people just happened to bid up to that crazy amount.

The funny thing is that the guy has over 400 feedback and it's all 100%, he also paid instantly - but I'm reluctant to believe someone would just throw an extra £250-£300 at an item that's available all over eBay. Similar auctions have ended at around £630ish.

I feel like this guy is going to abuse buyer protection in some way - can somebody please tell me how I can protect myself? I stand to lose a lot of money if this guy decides to say I sent an empty box, or the item is broken/send it back. There seems to be tons of protection for buyers, but not sellers. I feel like I'm in limbo and will inevitably lose out.

Thanks

All buyers have 100 feedback as sellers can not leave negatives for buyers

You have reason to worry for any item of that price as there are many scams.Make sure it goes by the correct method of postage with the appropriate amount of compensation

I cant see the item what was it

Make sure that the courier or Royal mail do not have it as a prohibited item.

There is not a lot you can do if they open a not as described dispute
