The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

OK, so these at ebay towers have demolished the door to our dungeon, we've been up all night tunnelling in again, and here's the new entrance!

Hopefully all the guards will soon find their way back in, and 'normal' service will be resumed as soon as possible.

The inmates seem to still be here, also the torture play room and all the usual toys. The young dragons were a bit peckish, so good job we got back in today - tomorrow may have seen them nibbling the inmates!

The hot chocolate wasn't very hot when I got back in, but is now fresh, and storecupboards and fridges full of the usual food.

Apologies to any innmates who have missed some meals, but bacon butties coming soon, to compensate for our 'technical' hitch.

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

Am going to be in the Lake District for a few days, (no internet) but will be back after New Year and make arrangements for the roller disco.  I'm not sure whether any guards/non-dragons will want to be in the same area as a lot of dragons hurtling about on wheels however- this might take a bit of thinking about!  Music isn't a problem, nor is a large flat venue (the large sports hall we used for the ice competition would be excellent) it's the actual logistics................

Anyway, packing for our annual foray tomorrow to the usually frozen area around Windermere.  I've genuinely no idea why we think this is a sensible idea!

Hope you have a lovely time Dragon:-)

We gonna have a roller disco...........can we have a smaller area roped off for guards and non-dragons, with a disco ball and flashing lights???????:^O

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

I was thinking along those lines, two adjacent areas, and maybe instead of the previous venue, we can have an enormous marquee/tent. With heating I hasten to add.

I'm formulating several different plans. All include lights and glitterballs, rest assured!

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

Welcome 3-cat-bat!

I hope you are enjoying your incarceration stay in our dungeon and that your personal guard assistant is being attentive.  The building is looking at its finest at this time of year, decked out with Christmas finery. The inmates and guards are not at their finest after all the festivities, but are recovering!

The lawns are a tad seriously soggy at the moment so we're studying weather forecasts and pondering all sorts of ideas for the roller disco.  I'm now looking into organising flooring and covering for the entire central courtyard rather than using the lawns, as that way we have access to the kitchens and dining halls around the outside.

The sports halls have been cleared of most equipment so everyone can practise.  Everyone has been banned from wearing skates in the corridors ever since there was a pile-up in the main entrance area involving five frozen gateaux, four sacks of potatoes, three young dragons, two hapless guards and a delivery man from the local shop.

*There were six geese on the lawn at the time, and seven swans nearby, but they all deny being involved .....*

Sorry fairy! I didn't realise it was your birthday.  Sadly, years ago we had a thread on the comp. board specifically for listing everyone's birthdays, there were so many of us to remember.

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

My memory has gone awol since Christmas - meant to say we had a good time in the Lakes.  The nights, particularly the first night, the van was rocking about with the wind and the torrential rain was really loud but it wasn't too bad during New Year's Eve daytime and New Year's day. We had a couple of (rather damp underfoot) walks and saw the annual duck race in Staveley.

It will probably take me till February to wash and dry the mountain of damp/muddy clothes, bedding etc!  We are probably going to re-think the trip next year, as this is two years n a row we've had such lousy weather.  It's beautiful up there in snow/frost, but in the rain it's not good.

Also meant to say, I wasn't there at the time, but will make enquiries about whether any geese were spotted wearing pink slippers.....

*is thinking it was a good job it wasn't a few days later as milkmaids, pipers, lords and ladies might just have been a sight too many!*

Aww, thank you for my Birthday wishes and the soooo lovely posh choccie cakes. 😄 x

Lovely to hear you had a good time in the Lakes, shame about the weather though, but sure would have been lovely to have a change of scenery there, enjoying yourselves as much as can be.

hehe, it would be fun to see geese in pink slippers, if one had an 'FF' on one of them, then it was most likely someone we know in disguise.:^O

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

All those interested in the forthcoming roller disco may be pleased to hear that the central courtyard will be being covered this weekend and work will start on installing lights and a level floor on Monday.

If the roof and flooring go as planned the disco will be in a week's time!

In the meantime, skates and protective elbow/knee pads are available for anyone wishing to practise in the sports halls.Guards and inmates in the smaller hall, dragons in the larger one.

Reminder - no skating in the corridors please. Anyone caught doing this will not be allowed into the disco.

If you don't pay your exorcist you get repossessed.
