Expensive

You can put parking near Westminster into google maps and some options come up - you need to click on the tiny red dots, not the lettered pins.

Don't forget you'll need to pay the London charge thingy -  whatever fee it's called as you'll be driving through London during the day.

Quite a few folk I know park on the outskirts of the city where its either free or a lot cheaper and then get the tube into central London.

Saves the stress of driving right in the centre too.

On the train?  As far as I know you should still be able to get them - could last week anyway.

Parking right by the door:

You can prebook and pay on the web site.

we live in West London & would never dream of driving into Central London nowdays. Gridlock everywhere. Easier to park on the outskirts and jump on the Underground. The tube system is so good that you can get anywhere easily

Well we went up just before Xmas.  Discovered you could pre book - just don't turn up early!. Using public transport was not an issue.

No traffic going in, not as busy as southampton will be this afternoon!.  Coming out was horrendous, gridlock but then better than home on a Saturday even so - signposted right turn turned into bus lane and no car entry, ended up going round twice and then diverting around it.  Would certainly go again - think may have to put OH on calming meds first mind.

Re: parking saturdays near to westminster, any advice?

Which way are you coming from Towery?

There are car parks around there, but some require pre-booking.

There is a public car park in Queen Victoria Street at Blackfriars, I wouldn't have thought it

would be full at that time on a Saturday.  From there it's a couple of stops on the tube.

If you want to get right close, I would sugges turning off the Embankment into Horseferry

Road, then turning first right again into Bradley Street.  This leads you into a little square

with parking bays all around it and St. Johns (old church) Concert Hall in the middle.

Some bays are residents only but others are meter parking or maybe free on Saturdays.

I'd be surprised if you didn't find an empty bay there at that time in the morning.  It's

less than half a mile walk to Westminster from there.

Alternatively, go round Parliament Square and head up the A302 towards Victoria.  Take

the first turning right (it looks like a right hand fork almost) into Tothill Street.  It leads

to St. Jame's Station.  There are car bays up there but not so many and it could be full,

but again, I wouldn't have thought so at 7.00 am.  There may be a time limitation too, but

maybe not on Saturdays.

You will need a fair bit of change or know how to do pay-by-phone parking.  I'm more used to

parking coaches in London but there are loads of little streets around there where you

should be able to park a car, just watch out they're not residents only spaces.  Some are

both, residents only during the week and either at weekends.

Hope this helps and that you have a good time.

Not on a Saturday.

If you are coming from the West down the M4, the best place for parking is Osterley underground station car park.

About £4.50 a day, and as far as I know you can get an all day ticket for the underground.
