..I think I may have either chipped the top knuckle on my pinkie finger, but I may have only damaged tendons?
I have it taped to mt other finger but I'm getting some really bad stinging type pains after I have tried to use that hand.
Did you strap up your finger when you broke yours? should I just leave it on it's own?
can't be 'arrised going the doc....what do you think?

CB, please go to A&E and get it looked at.
I thought I had a broken finger a few years ago and self treated - it was only when my finger swelled up to 3 times its normal size I went to A&E and they x-rayed it.
Found I had a broken dislocation (the knuckle had broken) and without treatment I would have been in a lot of trouble as the circulation was compromised.
I could have ended up with a gangrenous finger and septicemia!!!!!
An hour or so in A&E could save your life!
Please let us now you have been.

Indeed, gerroff my coo pal.
I broke my index and the next finger on my right hand and I have to say it was one of the sorest things I have ever done. Unbelievably I was attending an outpatient clinic at the hospital, going with the nurse through the swing doors and I don't know what happened, but they closed on my hand. These were my glam days and I had very long fingernails - the nurse said - Oh God don't look - which I did - nails hanging by skin and so much blood- I fainted - ended up in A&E - in a wheelchair lol -massive bandage and Lordy it hurt for weeks. They had to call my then OH to come and get me. Sometimes it still aches a bit and that was about 20 years ago.
Just to even things out a few years later I broke the 2 on my left hand - I was building a raised bed with granite from the local quarry and trapped my hand - eejit. So both lots still a bit bent looking.
There is no way I could have dealt with it myself. Hospital job Mrs Bovine.

You do seem to have had some bad luck with your hands, Rainy. Especially getting your hand trapped in a hospital door, and a quarry pit.
I suppose these things happen.

I fell off a kerb in Madrid and broke my metatarsal bone (foot), it was raining and I must have slid or something. OH (oblivious, his usual state) in back of taxi noticed nothing. THE most drop dead gorgeous Spaniard picked me up and shouted something at OH in taxi. I was channelling my Audrey Hepburn, hair all up and back combed, all in black, thin as a pin, lacy tights, short skirt (Madrilenos have great style) and ended up sprawled in a puddle in the road - more Kathy Burke than Hepburn I was absolutely mortified. We were taking the train to Granada for Holy Week and I had to go to the pharmacist who bandaged me to the knee - on the train the young guy opposite (by sign language and pigeon English and Spanish) rolled up his jacket and had me rest my leg on his lap for the journey. He was cute. Yes, I'm clumsy.
