And his parents have just arrived along with all the other parents and relations. How many different emotions will be running through them.

Incredibly sad situation. What state of mind must the poor man have been in to do that to himself and so many innocent people?

I've heard that as well. If that's the case, it's an awful situation. Another thing that was on the news earlier was that one of the windows in the cockpit broke.

Let's hope relatives of the deceased, aren't contemplating disgraceful lawyer-induced notions. Such as claiming monetary compensation from the airline operator.
On grounds of "Mental anguish", "devastated" etc.. etc

The breaking or loss of a cockpit window was speculation as it wasn't known at the time that the plane hadn't depressurised.
It was later found from the Cockpit Voice Recorder that the captain was trying to re-gain entry to the cockpit while the co-pilot was heard breathing "normally". After that, just before impact, the passengers could be heard screaming. Those factors indicated that the plane hadn't depressurised as it would have done had the winscreen been cracked or lost.
I just hope that after the premature release of information and the co-pilot "blamed" that it isn't found after further scrutiny that such a conclusion was wrong.

I must admit thought that the window could have been broken on impact. I hope that the parents of the co-pilot - if he was responsible for what happened - stay away from the rest of the families.

Well, you see what's happened to the rest of the plane after being flown in to a mountain at 350MPH ? Huge bits of metal smashed in to thousands of pieces so what chance for a bit of glass, reinforced or not?
The early speculation was about advancing a possible cause of the crash and hypoxia after depressurisation was just one of the theories put forward. Had the plane depressurised, death would have occurred after about 4 minutes so the pilot wouldn't have been calling out, the passengers screaming and the co-pilot breathing normally just before impact.

Am I dreaming, or did they say the same about the pilot of the missing Malaysian plane?

Now we hear that the co-pilot had suffered depression and had had 18 months of treatment and ".....German media reported he had been battling mental health issues........"

Thats a bit worrying CD.

Police have found a torn up sick note valid for the day of the crash. He had been signed off with depression.

It seems that there were a catalogue of errors and miscommunications that lead to this tragedy.
