You are brilliant, many thanks you got the right Thursday.

Not something that I want to repeat - 5 hour operation with just gas and air.

"The hole" opened right up gain, down to where the joint was, found a load of gunk that has been in there at least 18 months and was developing scar tisuue round it. They think it could have been the reason that it wasn't healing.

Muscles have been moved to fill the hole, hundreds of stitches, and a skin graft - going to be a very wierd scar.

Now it is lie on my left hand side for 2 weeks and pray that it heals

have you got plenty of stuff lined up to watch , listen to or read while you are stuck in one position? ?

Right at the moment it feels worse than ever - it was sweltering in here last night and I ended up being VERY VERY sick, ended up on I.V. fluids and a naso gastric tube.

Never mind, we will get there.

Luckily one of the really great nurses who knows me really well came on and she fetched the doctor and was really good at getting me sorted. She found me an electric fan, and had the sense to get a bowl and help me wash.

Feeling a bit washed out this morning.
