Thanks captain,  I have been feeling poorly today so forgot all about it.  Off out for skittles tonight, don't feel much like it though.

We had faggots, mash and peas.   Very popular tea tonight.

I've never had a faggot in my life!  I wouldn't know one if I saw one either!!Woman LOL

I was crafty last night, I saved a couple of Yorkies, some roasties, veggies and gravy as I knew I had some roast beef in the fridge, so with the roasties and Yorkies crisped up in the oven, the veg in the mike and the beef in the gravy in the pan on the hot plate, it all tasted just as good as it did last night!  He had home made chicken stew from the freezer. Woman Happy

What is a faggot?  I've never had one or wanted one as the name sounds a bit dodgy!

We had chicken pieces in white wine & mushroom sauce, teeny new potatoes (reduced!)

and peas, oh and a sausage with it too.  Fruit for pud.

I love Faggots.Smiley Happy

Faggots are an old-fashioned British food, and one that has sadly fallen out of favor in recent years. Traditionally Faggots are made from offal, usually pork, and from the bits of the animal that are generally discarded; the heart, the liver etc making Faggots a cheap and nutritious dish. Like a big meatball!

Mum, Steph and I had gammon, chips and beans.  Grace had sausage, chips and beans.  We all had cake and cream after.

Oh thanks for that info.  I can't say I'll be rushing out to get one though, I'm not a huge

lover of meat anyway and don't like the sound of offal and bits people usually discard.

I didn't have butchers faggots this time, I had Mr Bra*ns 6 pack for £1.00 in lovely gravy,  we do have butchers ones occasionaly but it is hard to find a nice one.

When I worked in Bristol there was a butcher there who made their own once a week & the line of people waiting to buy them would be right down the road! lol They were gorgeous & big too so one was plenty.
