thought I would throw this out there on a dreary monday morning for a bit of a debate
I used to smoke until, I started using these, at the moment I buy fruit flavoured very low nictotine,
use It perhaps two or three times a day.
I know there are big phramas who are certainly losing revenue so are contesting whether these are safe or attractive to kids
okay my personal experience,
my lungs are great (just been to the doctors)
my kids more importantly who hate smoking dont worry now
no side effects
I have an aunt who has emphysema and although the damage is not reversible, these are the only things that have made her give up cigs, she tried so many times over the years and we really thought that this would kill her.
okay over to you.........

I have a friend who uses the Epipe as he said the ecig was too heavy and as a pipe it feels like it should weigh that, and i too am thinking of getting one soon.
Another plus point you forgot is it stops buyers saying things stink of smoke LOL

the ones I use danthescan are quite heavy as they are stainless steel, they do not resemble a cigarette, as I always smoked outside the smell wasnt in the house,
but I stunk.......... I can smell someone who smokes a mile away now......... it is not pleasant

I've had mine for about 6 weeks. I don't think I actually want to give up smoking altogether, but my chest felt tight as I was slowly creeping up and smoking far too much. Since the day I started using my "puffer" I went down from 24 cigs a day to 6 - 8 per day. As I get used to it I'm feeling less need for the proper cigs. Maybe one day I will give up cigarettes completely and just "puff". But for now I'm really pleased. It definately works better than any other nicotine replacement therapy I've used.
For me it's not just the nicotine, but the habit that I can't give up. I had champix, and the nicotine cravings were completely gone. But when I sat down with a cuppa I just couldn't get past not having a cigarette in my hand. Now I can sit down with my cuppa and use my e-cig, so the habit is satisfied along with the nicotine craving. I think it's absolutely brilliant.

Not had experience of these as I gave up the nasty habit long before they were invented but anything that stops you smelling like a dirty ashtray gets my vote! 🙂

so true maggie, as I also suffer from OCD.. this was one huge hurdle to overcome (regarding the smell)

I just stopped smoking, 22 months ago now. (13th December 2012, not that I'm counting!!! ) Not smoked one since. I used to fancy one now and again for at least a year but now I hardly ever think about it.
I'd never tried an e-cig but I think I would have found it harder to stop using one of those. I would think the longer I had patches or gum or whatever else there is to think about and buy etc. it would have kept it all fresh in my mind.

I started using an e-cig nine weeks ago, haven't had (or wanted) a cigarette since, absolutely love it, and I never realised just how bad smokers stink, stood next to someone in the post office the other day, the smell was overwhelming, I cringed to think I used to smell like that!

I was a smoker for 30 years but packed up March 2007 and that was before e-cigs so I had to use the "cold Turkey" method, however the point I am making is, to help my mum as she's been a smoker for 60 years I bought her an e-cig starter kit but because she old, stubborn and set in her ways she flatly refused to show any interest in it whatsoever, so here I am lumbered with a £33 top end spec e-cig starter kit so I thought I'd list it on eBay.
But oops after a very long and somewhat fruitful relationship with eBay for many years I am told off about a listing violation as they aren’t allowed. They were very good about it and simply cancelled the listing and after a discussion on live chat with my apology as it was unintentional we are ok again.
But what puzzles me is there are hundreds if not thousands on eBay, some are eBay shops some are top rated sellers and one has sold hundreds in the last hour. The listing categories vary from health & beauty products to memorabilia. I have reassured them I won’t list it again but if there are loads of them all they have to do it simply type in e-cigarette on their own website and they’ll find hundreds if not thousands

i expect you were reorted by a major seller
they do get round things somehow, maybe you had used some phraseology that they dont like or a brand name
did you mention nicotine?

They were saying on TV this morning that tonight, after the watershed of 9 pm there was going to be the first ever ad for e cigs. I didn't/haven't seen it, I wonder if anyone has??

Hmm, not sure if I mentioned nicotine but I think I may have said something along the lines of "same thing as" in the listing description. Mind you being reported by a huffy seller whom doesn’t like any competition crossed my mind (and makes sense).
I listed (and sold) a number of books recently I must’ve been lucky not to have been reported by an online books store!

I was the one that everbody said would never stop smoking. I was given a very stark choice back in March " stop smoking and you can go home and have an oxygen machine " Was told to get an ecig which I used on the ward until I came home. It has not saved my life, too late for that but I can l honestly say I feel so much better, can still do loads and stoping has bought me extra time. I have servere COPD caused by smoking.

Thrilled for you CG. It's so easy to pack up smoking. I knew somebody who did it five times - think about it.
I have never smoked and I shy away from their presense I can smell a cigarette at 100 yards and the air is foul at te exit of every railway station in London as commuters light up as the reach their destination. I have quite literally walked down the centre of Fenchurch Street in London to avoid the mass of smokers who hang about outside their offices and that's what really gets up my nose - no pun intended. While we non-smokers are inside doing all the work, smokers think they've got some God given right to spend anything up to forty minutes during the course of a day "just popping outside for a quick smoke." Had I told my boss I wanted to go onto the bank and have a Mars bar for fifteen minutes, he would have gone mad, and yet smokers get away with it.
Ironically half of us smoked, half didn't, and yet there was never any pressure put on me not to - it's just the way we came out of the mould.
