Re: christmas is coming

68! I buy for Jackie & family & a couple of friends. My son & family in Yorkshire get tokens at their request. I still find it hard knowing what to get.

I've bought a few presents but I still need a few more.  I think that I'd panic if I had to 68 presents though.

Re: christmas is coming

Got most of mine. I'm making a parcel up for the local RSPCA dogs in kennels in memory of Poppy; buying treats and toys so that the dogs will have a present on Xmas day; I'm getting a lot of pleasure out of doing it.

The Christmas ad's have started in earnest now; loved the John Lewis one that was shown in the X Factor break last night, must have cost a fortune.

Re: christmas is coming

It was lovely wasn't it. It made my eyes leak a bit! It doesn't take much. lol I think it has become a bit of a competition for the best Christmas advertisment. The M&S one is good too.

I've got all the presents, just waiting on one I ordered on ebay to come and then I'll wrap up my penpals stuff to send to Maine. I've just looked up the price for USAsuprised fainting smiley.gifI just hope it all weighs less than 1.5kg...which will cost £24!!!!

I write the cards out in Nov and send them on Dec 1st....the cost of the stamps is going to sting a bit this yearunsure smiley.gif

Re: christmas is coming

I buy for 7 adults and 5 children, two or more presents each, not got many so far!  We never buy for the sake of buying, everything is chosen with care, but doesn't have to be expensive, or even new in some cases!

Re: christmas is coming

We made a pact in our family that once the children stopped believing in Father Christmas then we would not buy presents - it just gets ridiculous. I shall buy something for my son - just a token - but give him money to get what he wants. I will buy something for the cat as well. My best friend is about the only other person I buy for - and that will be a calander from The Works. Being in between jobs it gets more and more difficult.

As an aside I know that Christmas is just around the corner as the "Holidays are coming" Coca Cola ad was on TV about an hour ago. That signifies Christmas for me LOL.

Re: christmas is coming

My big sister phoned on Friday. She has a farm in Dorset so she can't get here for Christmas ever. She said she hoped we could get down before to see her. Made me decide that spending time on people is far more important than spending money.

Re: christmas is coming

I have got some presents in ( finding where I have put them is a different matter altogether! ) but still have some to go. Eight family pressies, about 20 friend pressies, 2 Secret Santas and various pet pressies. I go a bit crackers at Xmas, I enjoy the madness of it all!
