No Corgi, I don't think it's your imagination at all.  There used to

be threads that, if no comment had been added to them within

hours, they'd be on the next page but now threads stay on the

first page, even at the top sometimes for days and occasionally

weeks! 

There was always fun and banter, also more serious stuff, a

mix of everything really, and so many people contributing.  Now

loads of them have gone, even the stalwart members.

A shame, but then I guess life moves on.  There are still a lot

of lovely people here though.

Ok folks, you've made me feel guilty! I used to post on here quite a lot, a long time ago, but now I mostly pop in, have a read and pop out again. I don't imagine anyone would remember me, except for Maggie.

It's quite a momentous week as I am going down to meet Maggie for the first time on Tuesday, after being around on here for about ten years! I was quite touched by her charity Days For Girls, that she supports on MDCC and I've been gathering up stuff for them. Looking at the cost of posting it, I decided it was worth putting the extra to pay my train fare to deliver it in person, so we are looking forward to having a nice lunch and a natter!

No doubt we'll report back on here!

And I will try to post more often!

I'm rarely on here these days, don't post much apart from the birthday threads and I'm giving that up at the end of this year.

I've never really been a starter of threads/topics - nothing interesting to post about - but always joined in with other people's and offered help & advice when I could.

When I first stated posting on FHG I just couldn't keep up with some of threads - FHG was a bit slower than the Nags & RT but still too fast for me.  The posts and banter were all so funny and quick, before I'd typed a reply another 15 or so posts would have been aded.

We used have competitions and raffles when we were fund raising for Deno.

At Hallowe'en and Christmas photographic competitions for best carved pumpkin and best decorated tree/house/table etc. A few of us would donate small choccy prizes and FHG would vote for the winners in different categories.

It was all such fun, but bit by bit ebay's board changes, OTT moderation the introduction og groups and the sad little trolls put paid to all of that.

People got fed up and left.

Such a shame  because there were (and still are) some fantastic posters on here. 

Great RL friendships were formed which wouldn never have happened without FHG.

Now it's a mere shadow of itself and despite constant attempts to breathe some life back into it it bucks up for a wee while and then sadly dies again.

I don't know what the answer is, I wish I did.

In all honesty leo it looks to me as if like a lot of families each and everyone is going their seperate ways and that might just signal the end of FHG as we have come to know it.

I never was a prolific poster but now I am starting to look like I am hogging the board ! Oh well life must go on and we will just have to wait and see if FHG goes or continues which I am starting to doubt.

I am sure us stalwarts will plod along as usual. It is Sunday evening which is always quiet. Especially when Strictly or Downton is on.

I know that all the changes have put a lot of peeps off, and it is a shame that a lot of funny people have given up, but we have to soldier on and try to get people interested again.

I'm certainly not giving up, I love it on here and have made a lot of friends.

You can thank the royalmail for the decline in choccy prizes etc, the postage has added another nail in ebay's coffin......
