The first thing I do when going shopping is head for the reduced section to see what I can get there from my list. Not so long back I got 500g of minced beef for 18p and managed to make 4 meals out of it. I cannot remember the last time I paid full price of a loaf of bread - when my local COOP mark down it is normally from about £1.50 or thereabouts down to 50p. All the meat from last week was all at about one third of the full price - straight into the freezer. I also think that TESCO's value range in everything is a real bargain - cereal, tinned stuff, shampoo....the list goes on. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with the value range - it is just as tasty as their standard range so I suppose I could suggest that the real bargains out there are in the reduced and value section.

We never use T**co. We tend to do a big shop from A*di. You can get quite a lot of bargains there. Yesterday, we bought 1kg of carrots for 59p. They are nearly double that in Morr*sons. They had apples in our local S*ar shop today for 50p for about 7 apples which is cheap. It does pay to shop around though.

I buy Maxwell House in Poundland or the 99p shop, £1 for 100g and you can get Nescafe 200g for £2.49 in Life & Style or Poundstretcher

Sadly we don't have a M********ns, A**i, Poundland or Poundstretcher within 40 miles so stuck with the big 3 or Lidls which is small and doesn't have a huge selection, all the big three that we do have have a value range and lots of them are very cheap so I think we manage quiet well.

Tesco are the worse for reductions. lucky if you get 25p off. My Co-op get 5* from me. They had their £3.50 chicken breast at 80p on Wednesday. I bought six lots. I am very particular about my coffee though so you can keep the Maxwell House.

I think it depends on which one you go in, I had a couple of venison steaks last Friday for £1.25, put them straight in the freezer thought we might have them one Saturday night.

Definitely depend on the store we have a superstore nearby which has great reductions but the extra store in the town only takes a couple of pence off items
