Your most embarrassing moment...?

Remember a few years back we had *such fun* hearing about people's embarrassing moments 🙂

I think we need some new ones!

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

My mind has gone blank.

But I always remember this one! My friend Nicola was on holiday abroad aged approx. 17, and was walking down the seafront with her friends receiving more admiring glances and smiles than usual from blokes. She felt good.

Then she looked down and realised her crossover top was exposing a boob Woman Surprised

Yes this was my friend *definitely not me* I have never unwittingly exposed a boob. Have only ever done it on purpose Woman Wink

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

I once went to lean on a shop window that wasn't actually there and ended up face down in a pile of strawberries , I was only 7 at the time but I can still vividly recall the sound of people laughing at me

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

That reminds me, although I've told this one before.  It was 1976, a very long hot summer, even I had a tan.  I was at a swimming pool on a camp site (with hubby and kids) and knew most of the others that were there.  I was wearing a bikini with a halter neck.  I dived in, surfaced and was treading water while I got all my long wet hair off my face.  Eyes tight shut.  When I opened them all the menfolk were clapping my dive, or so I thought, until I looked down and saw that my bikini top was hanging down, and my (big) white boobs were shining snowy white like headlights compared to my  brown arms and chest!!!  Woman Surprised

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

Did do the skirt tucked into the knickers thing when I was in my early 20s.

Oh I know went on holiday to Tunisia once and was pulled over by customs with 2 armed guards, wanting to check over our suitcases,

Well I had a clear plastic bag full of Tampons, any way the customs man picks them up and says what iz zeeze and I said well erm, tampons and he said speak up what iz zeeze I repeated what they were and he seemed a bit cross and the two armed guards came over , scary or what 20 years old strange airport armed guards, help! Luckily there was a woman there who spoke Arabic and she explained to the customs man, and he waved his hand and just said go go go, the armed guards melted into the background and I was left to pick up the tampons from the desk.  phew both scary and embarrassing at the same time.

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

The most recent one that comes to mind happened about 8 weeks ago. I was driving into town with my son when, at the traffic lights, the clutch on the car went completely. I was left unable to move, at the traffic lights with a flipping bus full of passengers behind me honking the horn. Once the hazards went on at least the bus driver knew I was in trouble but for those first 30 seconds (which seemed to last 30 hours) I was soooooooooooooo embarrassed.

Remember - it takes 17 muscles to smile and 44 muscles to frown - SO KEEP SMILING 🙂

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

Ah that reminds me of another one, had a new exhaust fitted on my little car, was driving home and heard an awful noise like an airoplane going over, there am I sitting at the traffic lights looking up for the airoplane, and a lorry driver knocked on the window of the car, holding yes my exhaust pipe,(not just the tailpipe but the whole lot front to back) (he had gloves on too)  ' lost this love' he says, er possibly say I thought there was a noise. any way he took it to the side of the road and I drove into the car park, he brought the pipe down to the car, still holding up the traffic, I thanked him and he drove off I sat shrunken into my seat until the traffic had gone and then called the garage that had fitted it. Needless to say everybody and his mother saw me that day

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

I was in my early 20's, nursing, and had to get the train home which I had to ride to the station on my bike to catch it and take the bike on the train. My staff nurse said leave the bike, this really cold snowy icy night, and she would run me the station in her little mini. I had some shopping with me, and some oranges.

We got to the station car park, which was on a slope. The train came in and stopped at the platform, I got out of the car and disappeared!! I had slid on the ice and gone right under the side of the mini. The oranges had escaped the bag and were rolling down the car park!!

I've never seen Mary laugh so much, she was crying. The people on the train were laughing, and the guard, who had seen me getting on and off the train before was clapping....I was so embarrased but I laughed my head off.

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

went to the funeral of an old Aunt last year, had not seen my relatives for many years and had not heard from my Aunt for a long time (she had severe dementia) but she had been an important part of my childhood so I flew down to pay my last respects. Arrived at the chapel and began mingling with the other mourners although I didn't recognise anyone, but having not seen cousins etc for so long that was not surprising. Wasn't until someone asked if I had known HIM well that I realised - wrong church, wrong funeral!! Walked away as quickly as I could without making a run for it, and thankfully managed to find the right one just down the road just in time. Was so embarrassed I didn't tell anyone at the correct funeral what I had done, but I'm sure my Aunt would have laughed.

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

Oh I love these and have an embarrassing number of embarrassing moments to add

to them unfortunately!

The ones that come immediately to mind are the tampon under the door one and the

falling out of bus one.

I was at the motorway services quite a number of years ago now, with a coach full of

people, we'd stopped for the loo and whatever else people do.  I went into the loo and,

how can I say it without too much info, let's just say I had to make use of a tampon

which I prepared and balanced on top of the loo roll holder whilst I did my business.

Then it rolled onto the floor, then it rolled out undeneath the door.  Then I stayed in the

loo for as long as I could until I thought all my coach passengers had gone.  They hadn't.

It was a weird feeling when we all got back on the coach, nobody mentioned the incident

yet I knew that they knew and they knew that I knew that they knew, if you know what I mean.

I was glad to drop them off and never see them again, I was so embarrassed.

The falling out of bus incident took place outside Leigh on Sea station in Essex at

about six o clock one weekday evening when commuters were emerging in their droves

from the station.  It was a light summer evening and my door was open.  I leant across

the little gate thingy that separates the driver from the passengers, to alter the destination

blind - as we always did.  Only this time the bolt on the gate gave way and I fell straight

out of the door, landing on the pavement at the foot of the queue of waiting passengers.

I was closely followed by the ticket machine which I'd knocked off its holder as I went,

and it landed on my lap.  "Fares please" I said.  Very, very embarrassing, especially as

I was on that duty for the rest of the week.  It did put a smile on the faces of the usually

mizog commuters though!

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

when trying to find the church of the funeral of my dearest friend (she'd been taken back to Liverpool) we got a wee bit lost. Asked directions and took off, time getting closer and closer to the service starting and us nowhere near the church.....

ended up in a Tesco car park!!!! she would have laughed out loud at that bless her.

Re: Your most embarrassing moment...?

There was the time when I was meeting a friend at a railway station, and prodded a total stranger in the back with my umbrella. Going "Oi! You!" at her didn't help much, either...
