Where did u go for your honeymoon?

I went to New Caledonia - real bounty bar advert - villa on stilts in the water - glorious.

Re: Where did u go for your honeymoon?

Whilst we stayed with friends and helped them move house we had a wonderful time, we laughed until we cried.  The night in the hotel was very special as it was very posh.  I don't think you need to spend thousands on a honeymoon it's being together that counts, same goes for the wedding itself, we did ours for £500 all in (and that includes my dress) and it was the most wonderful day, just family and close friends, all my neighbours made things for the reception food wise and we had the reception at my parents house, just like my parents did with theirs, we were married in a registry office as neither of us is religious much to my fathers relief.

We are still married today 26 years on, we have our moments but then doesn't everyone, my OH always apologises even when it is my fault. Although I moan about him he is a gem and I wouldn't want to swap him for the world, well unless it was Brad Pitt, no honestly.

Re: Where did u go for your honeymoon?

Rainy - the best way I can describe it is... it was fast! More seriously, except on take off it didn't feel any faster than any other aircraft but you are certainly aware of the speed becase you can see the clouds below you slipping away faster and of course looking down on all the contrails of other aircraft seemingly going backwards. The curvature of the earth is obvious from 56,000 ft but you can still experience that if you were to get a ride in a Learjet because some models of Learjet ( series 55 onwards, I believe ) are certified to 55,000ft. Comfortable - yes, very. Window size, as you can see from my avatar, is a bit on the small side. Fortunately they are all in museums ( bar the one retained at Heathrow and the one that the French lost plus one other that the French scrapped ) and most can be visited inside so it's possible to get a pretty good idea. If you go onto YouTube and search Concorde take off, there's a few clips there filmed from on board - watch them on full screen and with the volume right the way up... :smileyhappy

Re: Where did u go for your honeymoon?

Oh, it is! When we had a boat we spent many a romantic weekend pumping out the bilges, and nowadays it's shovelling compost at the allotment...

Re: Where did u go for your honeymoon?

lol, yes it can be great fun & the fact you've achieved something together no matter if your getting dirty & often very tired, it's worth a lot ,no amount of romantic dinners & trips out will ever give you that feeling that you've experienced together!.

Re: Where did u go for your honeymoon?

We spent our wedding night in Broadway, Cotswolds in a B&B, dining in style at the Happy Eater (remember them?!) on

the way!  We then carried on to the Lake Dsitrict where we spent two weeks going all over the place but based at a

lovely B&B in Windermere/Bowness.  It was September and the weather was gorgeous, just one afternoon of rain.

Almost 32 years ago now.

Up until the day we sold it years later, we still found odd bits of confetti in our green Morris Marina!
