Whilst we stayed with friends and helped them move house we had a wonderful time, we laughed until we cried. The night in the hotel was very special as it was very posh. I don't think you need to spend thousands on a honeymoon it's being together that counts, same goes for the wedding itself, we did ours for £500 all in (and that includes my dress) and it was the most wonderful day, just family and close friends, all my neighbours made things for the reception food wise and we had the reception at my parents house, just like my parents did with theirs, we were married in a registry office as neither of us is religious much to my fathers relief.
We are still married today 26 years on, we have our moments but then doesn't everyone, my OH always apologises even when it is my fault. Although I moan about him he is a gem and I wouldn't want to swap him for the world, well unless it was Brad Pitt, no honestly.

We spent our wedding night in Broadway, Cotswolds in a B&B, dining in style at the Happy Eater (remember them?!) on
the way! We then carried on to the Lake Dsitrict where we spent two weeks going all over the place but based at a
lovely B&B in Windermere/Bowness. It was September and the weather was gorgeous, just one afternoon of rain.
Almost 32 years ago now.
Up until the day we sold it years later, we still found odd bits of confetti in our green Morris Marina!
