Hubby thinking about buying me a new one, I have my Renault, which I love, but OH is pushing me towards an Audi A3 - anyone know anything about them?

As my hubby cant drive I always had a vauxhall zafira but gave up driving a few years back.  I loved it though, loads of room, really easy to get into and great on fuel.

mine was a metallic blue/grey

I don't drive but I have a forest-green Suzuki Swift, original pattern, about 1000cc and he's a little belter. Super little car, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Snap, Mouse!  I have an original shape Swift with the 993cc engine, except mine is blue.  It's a 4 door automatic and on longer trips will return 50mpg or more ( with premium petrol in it - with ordinary petrol it tends to return only about 30 - 35mpg ).

We have just sold on our beloved Toyota and bought a "normal" car.  A Skoda octavia estate, auto, 2l, diesel.  It is economical, fast, clean but every time we get in it we agree we want the old(22 years old and 350Ks) one back and as to getting out - AARGHHH.

Nothing against it (yrt) and it is very economical and roomy and has a large boot and should see our driving years out BUT

when did modern cars get so complicated - buttons everywhere, manual goes everywhere with us, took 24 hours to find out how to open the passenger doors with the key fob and half hour to find the rear wiper button

When did car seat get so uncomfortable and complicated to sit in.  Toyota had almost padded bench seats, this has cradle you in total (dis)comfort seats.  Have managed to collapse my lumbar support so I am no longer in screaming agony after more than 20 minutes in the car but OH is still working on that goal.

When did cars get so low - we certainly do not park next to the curb any more, can't climb up(arthuritic old age)  The Toyota we kind of fell out of feet first.

When did car mirrors get so small - been driving a car with van size mirrors for 12 years!!!!!!

Moral is: if you like what you have and there is no reason to change it DON'T

To be honest I am not complaining.  It is a great little car, basically easy to drive, the fuel guage doesn't noticably drop across town, it has a tow bar(when we figure out how it goes on), the heating is absolutely blissful(was down to blankets when not driving last year) and I will get the seats sorted eventually.  Mind you I haven't actually driven it yet, though am really looking forward to that(it has acceleration!!!) and if I don't like it it will go, though nothing with a similar spec(automatic,  at least 2L, low fuel consumption, large boot, tow bar) seemed any better or even ticked all the boxes. What we did like had worse fuel consumption that the Toyoata.  Can anybody recommend any seat additions that have worked, please?
