What is the best printer please?

Currently using a Brother, but it is giving up the ghost. Had an Epson before. Think possibly HP or Canon? I will only use it for my best photos, the Brother will do for ordinary printing. Thanks for any input I receive.

I had an Epson which I loved, but for some odd reason when it packed up I bought a Kodak and hate it.

I have an HP all in one printer which is good for my needs.  I mainly use it for photo's and letters.  The cost of the cartridges can be around £25 for both black and colour.

The cartridges are cheaper than the Brother, which cost about £40 for originals, so will look at HP's. Thank you.

Ive got a cheap B&W laser printer which is still on it's first cartridge after printing out masses of stuff. Gave up with colour inkjets as I would not use them for 6 months then spend several hours running cleaning cycles till the printhead worked again, only to run out of ink! So now I use a little Canon Selphy dye-sub printer that does postcard sized pics. and if I need something bigger printed I take it to a shop.

Ours is an HP Deskjet, we're quite happy with it.  Cheaper compatible refills are available. It was temperamental when we had it on a  shelf under the desk, but since moving it to a unit beside the desk, all is well!

I have a canon all-in-one and love it but the cartridges are quite expensive. I use Tesco's own in it and it save a little but then you don't get the messages for low ink coming up properly, but I can bypass that.
