Thanks Dooley and Towery. It is an empty feeling - but she was 85 and had had a good life. Her health really deteriorated last Ocotber and although she struggled she was determined to live independently and so she did - until Christmas Eve.
We have some fantastic memories as a family and although our relationship wasn't always easy - she could be quite dificult (unlike me who is of course perfect :^O) - she and my dad gave us a warm loving childhood - and sometimes it seems that's quite rare.

Floaty I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your mum no matter what age they are you still feel the loss and the greif.

Stormy and a strange purple yellow colour here. Our tree came down yesterday as it was the 13th which is our final night and of course it all needs sorting and away now.

(((Floaty))) Never quite sure how much help I am and how much hindrance! Cat's are probably overjoyed to have you to rampage over again. (sensitive to human emotions? Yes! Care? Only at breakfast time!)

G/p thanks for your post. I am going to be ensuring changes to how they do things, but suspect I’ve not a chance of it impacting for him, before summer. There are many battles being fought at school at present and it’s hard to know which one’s to throw full force into at times. I need to see the actual test and how well he did in the bit he managed, before I go further, but the fact his book with all the work was stolen is now coming back to haunt us as we and the teacher know what level he was marked at but there’s no longer any proof. His homework book is consistent though.

Dooley and G/p any books that you are throwing out will find a welcome home here but please only if they are heading out anyway.

Big lad finally stopped milking it last night and considered mild panic instead! Girlfriend stopped being good distraction and the reality of what it all means has hit home.

Op’s being done today with an aim to destroy an extra electrical pathway in his heart that’s causing problems, and we all hold our breathe.

we're only taking up the things we use everyday this so packing the van will be last minute rush

there's not guarantee it will work if not we'd just be dragging piles of furniture back.

the cottage is part furnished and they have spare stuff we can use in the mean time.

there's no TV signal there and we don't want satellite so that's one thing not going, we'll just watch DVDs on the laptops I don't think the broadband will be very fast there so watching TV over that is probably out too.

they've had loads of trouble with the TV licensing people not believing there are no TVs there, it took getting them to come and see the place before they would stop sending nasty threatening letters!

but why would you want to look at a telly anyway?
