Yes, sort of, hiddengems. I have candles that are 3" x 6", pine cones, red berries and eucalyptus that can be dried. I thought that would make a few very nice Christmas pieces if I stuck them down onto a wooden base. Merlin suggested a glass dome to keep it safe which sounds like a good idea, but it may not be possible to get something that size in my price range.
Does that make sense?

Morning all. Is careful not to miss anyone. Have you all got chatter-itis! lol
Search for 'Display Plinth' or 'Wooden Plinth' Bookworm. You might find something suitable.:-)

Hi Maggie. Thanks for that 🙂
I must say Im liking the cheese board option, would never have thought of that 😄
19-10-2010 10:39 AM
Cheese board sounds like a good idea or round wooden chopping board, same thing realy. 🙂

Just popped in for a second. Sorry about my faux pas merlin. I sort of group people in pairs on here with not really knowing them. You and mrs R, maggie and mags, I always mix them up. And anyway, it was very early, for me!;-)
Just a quick thought for bookworm, how about those 'rustic timber slices'? A sort of cross section of a small tree trunk, you sometimes see them with house numbers/names on them. Got to go, byeeee:^O

:_|i notice my request of room & board was body swerved
:^O

Afternoon
Blimey you lot have been in natter mode this morning!!
Been out to my Grandma's this morning - do this every Tuesday. Is a mix of housework and nattering.
Called into habbie shop on the way home - have some felt that will do for GB men, seems the right shade of ginger does not exist anymore. My friend went to a habbie warehouse @ the weekend and they had none - nor is it listed in any of the catalogues 😞 Anyhow I have some that will do but my father will remain single & I'll start a new family.
Also bought some fabric for a dress/tunic for me - should have time next week in 1/2 term to do some serious making.
Lastly I've bought the most gorgeous singer sewing machine - in minature for my dolls house 🙂
Waves to Bookworm - welcome
Waves to everyone else (much easier than missing someone off).

Glad you have joined the group KC. Looks like the invite thingy is working again now. Photo attachments still not working in the group though which is a pain! Do say hello I introduce yourself to 'the girls'.:-)
19-10-2010 12:59 PM
hippy what shade do you want
i'll try looking in the craft shop on king street, see if they have any
19-10-2010 3:45 PM
didnt have chance to call today, had a run of 6 shops 😐
so is that colour called anything?
is the a specific weight/thickness to felt? - years since i bought any lol
19-10-2010 4:25 PM
It has no special name - it just looks like the colour of gingerbread men!! No idea of thickness - it will be the stuff they sell in 9" squares though.
Maggie - have had mail & voted. Think its down to ebay to sort this problem out. They messed up not members of the groups.
19-10-2010 4:28 PM
Thanks Hippy. I will review the vote on the 31st October & go with the majority.:-D
