Morning all. Woken up to frost and when I say frost, I mean frost. It's not so jolly warm even with the heat on. I've had a look out at the front and the road and footpath seem clear. It must just be an air frost. At least I put the car up the drive so it is more sheltered. It might just need a spot of de-icer but not as much as it would have done if I'd have left it at the end of the drive.
Hope that eveyone who has frost or any bad weather stays safe.

It's a lovely sunny day here but the breeze has a nip in it. Damson has been lying out in the sun. The sun is showing me how dusty my house is! I must fling a duster & hoover about a bit later.

Sorry you've had snow Merc. It has warmed up a bit here as the day has gone on but it's still cold and the wind has got up again. When I went for my swim this morning, the car was telling me that the outside temperature was 2 degrees. On my way back home, it had warmed up - it was 9 degrees. It would feel better if the wind would drop.

Hope that you have a good day tomorrow Captain - try to take it easy if you can.
I too am at work tomorrow, but if my meeting with management goes badly it could well be my last day! I made a formal complaint last week as they are making access virtually impossible - you would never think that I work for a disabled people's organisation.
Had a nightmare day last week - couldn't get in the building without help as the front sliding doors are so stiff - I asked for them to be looked at, but was told it would cost too much. I asked if they could at least try a bit of oil, but nothing has been done.
Couldn't sign in as boxes of stationery had been left by the reception desk and I couldn't get close enough to reach the signing in book.
Computer wasn't working - the tower on my desk had been swapped with one of the newer towers. It wouldn't let me log in to the network.
Tried the two computers in reception that can be got at without too much difficulty. Couldn't work on either of them as both needed a bit of software downloading and this requires an administrator password.
Found my old tower in the training room, but couldn't get at it to use as there is all sorts of junk piled up in there - an able bodied person can get round the boxes etc., but impossible in a wheelchair!
Checked "my" computer and found that the network cable had been unplugged - no way that I can manage to get round to the back of the tower to plug it in.
Finally managed to instruct the cleaner in how to plug in the network cable and got logged in. Computer wanted to install software updates - administrator password required. Since it is now gone 9am, in desperation I phoned the I.T. support company, who refused to give me an administrator password, but took remote control of the computer, and still couldn't get the software updates installed.
Went to get a big pile of envelopes from the stationery room as I had about 50 letters to send out - couldn't get close to the helf because of a load of junk was in the way.
Had a phone call from a social worker who wanted to fax some forms over to me - can't get at the fax machine as it is in the stationery room and I can't get past the junk in there! Tried to phone the staff in the payroll department, but as usual they don't answer the phone. Tried to get in to the payroll office to ask one of the staff for help, but couldn't get through the door as the filing cabinets and the fire extinguishers don't leave enough room to manouvre my wheelchair. Had to go and collect the forms as they were needed urgently. It was rubbish collection day, so had no choice but to go along the roads, as the bins block the pavements.
Had barely got back to my cupboard (office) when the fire alarm went off. As usual trapped as the magnetic catches on the fire doors release and the fire doors are too heavy for me to open. Because I had been unable to sign in, no-one realised I was there and no-one came to help. Had to ring the vice chair on her mobile to tell her I was there and needed help, just to be told "it's only a drill". Even if it is a drill it is totally unacceptable.
By this time I was seething, so I made an official complaint and demanded a meeting to address the issues. I am quite prepared to leave if the issues aren't adressed especially as I frequently work both early mornings and evenings when there are few (if any) other staff about!

What a nightmare. I honestly don't know how you have stuck it as long as you have!
24-03-2014 9:26 PM
What a disgraceful state of affairs stroppy...I hope they address the issues that you are raising
24-03-2014 9:32 PM
Hope that you manage to get things sorted Stroppy. It's a terrible state of affairs it really is.
25-03-2014 1:05 AM
Take things slowly tomorrow CB & go easy on that hoof of yours, I bet your workmates will be glad to have you back
Stroppy I do hope your bosses sit up & listen to you tomorrow, what you are putting up with is shocking
25-03-2014 10:07 AM
I wonder how CB's getting on
25-03-2014 10:17 AM
I bet CB will be aching all over when she finishes, those trollies are jolly heavy to push, I reall hope she is getting some help for a while, but knowing our lot it wont last long.
Stroppy sorry to hear of your problems, hopefully they will sort them out today.
