Maggie, do you remember the pattern I sent you for the hoody?
Can I ask which yarn you have that you thought would be OK?
I'm struggling to find anything for that pattern.
I was sure I had answered this!
I didn't look in the end Mags as my friend who I was going to knit it for wasn't keen. She thinks chunky might be a bit thick.

I did Merlin .... it was so sad & I'm sure there will be even more similar stories during the course of the evening 😞
we really don't appreciate how lucky we are.

i'm sitting here just thinking about all the rubbish i moan about, our children know they are lucky, but i dont suppose they REALLY appreciate just how much
that poor wee girl, she has never known anything happy:-(
18-03-2011 8:25 PM
I know, you just want to give her a cuddle & a good meal don't you.

i could keep a wee girl like that, i know people say that, but i really would, imagine her seeing most things for the 1st time, she said all she wanted was to go to school:-(

Sorry Merlin, wasn't ignoring you .... i went for a lie on the floor :8}

How's your back now CK?
With the fear of being ostracized, can I just ask, after however many years since comic relief first started, has anything improved in Africa? After all those hundreds of millions of pounds being spent, things seem just as bad as ever. Is the money being used in the best way long term? I know this sounds horrible to say but, the bigger the number of children that are being given better health, the bigger the number of young adults who are producing more children.
Yes, I feel sorry for them and yes, I make my yearly donation, but how much better off are they now than they were back then?
18-03-2011 11:13 PM
Not quite as bad today CG, thank you although I'm not very comfortable now sat watching TV.
I understand what you mean about Africa, after all the years & all the millions raised things don't seem to be improving at all 😞

I agree completely CG. They keep having too many children, treat their women badly & circumsise little girls. It's education they need but it's not going to change. My friend has spent time in the Gambia which is a 'civilised' country but it all goes on there too. I feel so sorry for those children but all the money in the world isn't going to change the mindset of the african people.
Sorry if this offends but it is how I feel.

Boo!! :^O
Did i scare ya ?:| did i ?:|
My hubby said the same, all these yrs and are they better off ? but if a hand full are helped it was worth the effort, just makes it hard when you know its more a loosing battle, they dont seem to help themselfs.
All those poor children & sick children makes me :_|
All the women who have produced 2 children should not be allowed to produce any more unless they can feed them, look after them & keep them in good health. They are bringing babies into this world knowing how serious their health is and what they are passing onto their babies. It is such a shame.
