Well I don't believe it.......................Mr S has just come up to the pub and brought me a dozen red roses :-x

He's either being really nice because it's a special weekend  :-D...........................or he's broken something important when unpacking the cases at home :_|

Think he realises I'm finding this tougher than I ever thought it would be, lovely day though and nice to be sat in the beer garden with the littlies running about.

Fairly quiet here at the mo but it usually picks up about 4 when peeps have had enough of gardening .:-)

Bet your busy planting and getting the garden sorted this year are you CB ??

 Not moving exactly............I am leaving..............no not fhg (you wish)...........the pub.

As I have said this year I celebrated my 20yr anniversary at the pub (Thursday just gone) but I have also hinted that it would maybe be my last and sadly after Sophies diagnosis and with Stans poor health,(he needs to finish work the place is too much for me to manage alone) that time has come.:-(

So my last ever day is to be the bank holiday Monday the 6th of May........................my birthday.

Well I decided if I was gonna go out with  BANG  it may as well be a big one.

So I will be throwing a huge tata party for myself and the regulars on the sunday so no-one has to get up for work the following morning and will then spend my last day with friends and family having a few scoops IYKWIM.

I have agreed a deal where I will serve as secretary for the LVA and still run the pool and darts teams as the new landlord did'nt want the responsibility .I will also still be throwing my pensioners their free xmas meal and can have use of the pub kitchen for the day.

My work has been supporting the pub for a while as it no longer provide an income (only holds its own) but that won't be an option when it is the only wage coming in.

Only 2 of the other girls have known about my decision as it only became final a few weeks ago when  I handed my months notice in with the brewery.

 I am so sad it has come to this as the place saved me when there was nowhere else for me to go and picked me up when I was at my lowest.

so there you go nothing exciting  just a little tear jerking at times as so many memories to be packed into boxes or thrown in the skip.

Sorry this seems like a moan and is probably why I kept to myself

the pub has probably been kept going by you when lesser men would have given up

hard to let go of the memories,  but you can still be around,  you'll have more time for the family just at a time when they need you too

i expect the new people will want a hand once in a while too

We are just back and had a fabulous time. Coming back from Greenwich we took the river bus. Same price as the tube and it was so interesting. As we came up to Tower Bridge they raised it!  OH said it was because of a yacht with a mast but I think it was for us! 🙂

I've been out today!!!  Only down the road to daughters.  watching the grandchildren enjoying themselves.  Look at the little one, only just 4 and like a fish in 8ft water!

Lovely pool! I'd love a pool but OH always says you can walk to the sea in about 30 seconds. Not the same unless its a really hot day though.
