My hairy rag has to have an operation.:-( She's been on Metacam and Seraquin for four to six weeks now but she's just getting worse. She walks everywhere on three legs now.

Aww poor hairy rag hope the vet makes her better soon CG .

Thanks pcc. I'm not looking forward to trying to get her back on her feet. The vet said it'll take three to six weeks, and she still might not use it, but at least it won't be so painful. They're going to tie it together with nylon string. (Well, that's what hubby said the vet said, so she might not have said that at all!) 😐

It's rotten when your dog has to have surgery, but she's not ancient, so that should mean she'll heal more quickly? I guess someone out there will know but could you give her arnica? I used to give it to my wee girl and massaged the gel onto her leg. She limped badly latterly but they reckoned she was too old to have anything done.
Having had time to think (and compare) the last few days, on balance I think I'd rather have another dog, sorry cat peeps!
I wish you, and Lottie, well.:-)

CG have you got a puppy cage as when Smudge had his op on his legs the vet said to put him on cage rest until the stitches cam out .
27-03-2012 9:47 PM
No, pcc. Never thought of that, but if she needs one we can probably borrow one or hubby could make one as he has all sorts of wire things. We could put her in a chicken coop!:^O
Knowing my dog, she probably won't move too much, she never has!:-D

Aw CG, I've just caught up on the news about Lottie 😞
she's only little though (so not a lot of weight on her leg) & still youngish so it must go in favour of her getting her mobility back ok
big hugs to Lottie x x
Huggles 😮
your thinking of getting .............. a cat 😐
they leave footprint & fur ....... & they claw at things 😐
