I was meant to be working at the SWQ 'do' as I am a committee member. I run the raffle & the bring & buy!We have speakers & a huge buffet lunch! lol Never mind.

Weather here is awful. Torrential rain & gales. Glad we made the decision not to go.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Shame you have to miss it Maggie but if the weather is that bad its best not to go , may not be many that manage to get there anyway .

Started my eye treatment this week , its not doing much yet suppose it will take time to improve , although theres no cure i will have to live with it forever so have to get used to doing the treatment 😐

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

No antler making today ...... I need to spend every spare minute trying to make my MDCC offering, I'm afraid its still  ........... well, its balls of wool & a few flat pieces 😞   to many other things keep cropping up.

I'm making a serious effort to spend every spare minute today & tomorrow to try & finish it , I even gave up a chance to go christmas shopping in York today with my sister 🙂  ..... well, its ages away yet isn't it :8}

My other news is that last week, Sons GFs Mum invited her for Christmas 😮  ..... So  .....  she gave her notice in at work, although she's been on sick more days than she worked & today she's gone back home to sort a few things out, go & see her midwife, go & visit her Nan & then she's going  home to Mum 😄

She;ll be away about 5wks 😮

I'm really, really pleased for her I really am & if I'm honest it will be lovely to have our house back to ourselves for a while but on the other hand I'm really annoyed that her Mum seems to have been forgiven completely after all the stress she put her daughter through when she least needed it, also she's gone off saying how nice it will be, she will be able to do all the cooking, cleaning  etc to help her while she's there because she likes doing housework ........ 😐

erm ....... in that case, how come she hardly lifted a finger all the time she was here & if on the rare occasion she managed to put some washing in she left it for son to take out as "she'd been the one to put it in"

& No ....... I haven't said a word to them but you want to see the number of bite marks in my tongue !! :^O

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

:-DNo Sons not invited, although he couldn't get the time off work even if he was, they only close christmas day & he needs to save all his holidays up to taking paternity leave.

He's never even met her family, they live too far away & hardly kept in contact with her much anyway.

I've had to do a lot of tongue biting because there is no way I am going to let her cause conflit between us (me n hubby) & Son, Son realises it been difficult at times, I don't think he needs me to tell him how much & make him feel even worse, were all living together now anyway so what the point in making it even more difficult, I'd hate him to feel torn between us & her, he's already worried to death about possible problems that may materialise as her pregnancy progress's & now they are going to be apart for over a month  😞

the plus side is that we get our "own" christmas  Son will be misserable  😞 ............. & were stuck with a spare theatre ticket for woman in black that she still owe's us for  X-(

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Our daughter has chronic SPD with this pregnancy and is having to use a wheelckair at work.

However as she works at a special needs unit within a school the kids think its fab and are being "extra kind" to her and little Ava loves a ride in it.

Its good for me :^O

Not so much for Son though ... he loves her & will miss her  😐

+ its his "bonding with baby time now, now she's wriggling around more actively he can feel her too so she seems more real (if that make sense)  & he loves that & he'll miss it :-x

Honestly that girl has him wrapped around her little finger ...... & thats not me acting like a persesive Mum ..... she really has  X-(

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

That would really annoy me!  I know it's her mum, but who stood by her all this time??  And they could  have asked him to go, even though they knew he couldn't, at least he wouldn't feel rejected.  And where will she run to if her mum doesn't wait on her hand and foot or disagrees with anything she says??? X-(

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Just paracetemol as pain relief CK but to be honest she is being great and gritting her teeth and getting on with it.

Suppose she has to really as Ava is only 20 months and is into everything and she has to work right up to the end as they need the money.

Her hubby is great though and is really helping out and we have Ava in the day at weekends.

Maybe sons G/F may come back with a whole new attitude CK when she realises how much you have been doing for her and letting her get away with when she comes back from her mums.Mind you from what you say about thier relationship I have a feeling she will be back with your son sooner than you think IYKWIM 😉
