Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Just had an email from one of my cousins in South Wales telling me how is mum is.   Apparently, she has myeloma, stomach cancer and throat cancer.  She has to have an MRI scan next week and more tests done so they can decide what treatment but I don't hold out much hope unfortunately.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Thanks CB.  We'll know more next week.  They will decide what treatment if any once they have done the MRI and yet more blood tests.  It's a worry and it doesn't help with them being so far away.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Just emailed one of my other cousins from South Wales to ask her how here dad was coping.  He's as nutty as a fruit cake and he keeps texting my auntie to tell her how ill he feels.  He's so selfish it's unbelievable.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Hoping Stroppy is either feeling better this morning or safely ensconsed in a hospital ward at least getting some treatment.

After yesterdays morning spent at the Bubble Bus we're off today for a grown-up retail therapy day to try & buy some holiday clothes whilst the shops still have some in stock & then lunch out then back to watch the Tottenham/Arsenal game.

Have a nice day everyone & good luck to all the MDCCers

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Stroppy is indeed feeling better this morning, temp is lower, coughing less, and I managed to eat some breakfast.

Half the problem is the side effects from the multiple anti-biotics.

At least at home when I fall asleep I am left to sleep, not woken up every half hour or so, so I get some rest. Sleep is often the best medicine.

great believer that  sleep is helping/healing

which is a bit ironic since when you are asleep in hospital they wake you up for something or other all the time!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I have absolutely NO intention of wasting energy getting dressed. I had a quick shower whilst "himself" put clean bedding on, and I am now back in bed. I'm sorting through all my craft stuff, trying to make sure that I have all the materials that I need BEFORE I start on a Christmas Card order. I usually get half way through and then discover that I haven't got enough of something.
