LOL merc
Ok I have cleaned the house, finished rugby training with the littlies, baked a buffday cake for Alesha who is 9 today (where does the time go) and now just have Kaysha, Danielle and her daddy here watching the grandprix qualifying.
Now this is nowhere near up to the standards that normally appear on here but I am quite pleased with it, so here is a piccy of the newest addition modelling a patchwork quilt that I have made for her cot

Can I ask a sewing related question please.
I'm just completing a needlepoint rug, made up of 4 central sections and 10 outer border sections like this one - but the main squares are of orchids.
There is a little bare canvas on the back where the joins are and I need to tape them, what would be best to use a cotton webbing do you think?
24-08-2013 4:37 PM
Waves franticly at everyone.
Thank goodness, I thought I was never going to be able to join in again!
Managed to persuade the ward sister to let me have a shower - the deal was that if I had a shower I had to eat something at lunchtime, so bought a yoghurt from M&S. Boy did it feel good to be clean. Cough is getting a bit better and temperature is coming down slowly. Sadly the infection count continues to rise.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Stan - baby and quilt are both adorable.
Chips - you are so clever, I struggle with simple cross stitch.

hELLO cHIPS ...OOEERRR KITTEN'S Been ON The KEYBoard...........
Sorted
If the back of the rug isn't 'backed' (do ya know what I mean?) then I think I would do the whole lot, not just the joins.... it will protect your stitching as it would be a crime for it to get damaged after all the time you have spent doing it.

Welcome back Stroppy. Glad to hear you have had a shower. We wenen't letting you back in until you had! lol
Chips you used to be able to get a sticky woven tape from carpet shops that would cover the raw edges & prevent fraying. We want pictures when it's finished.

Sorry Merc but as Stan more or less has to pass where I live to get to where you live, just thought I'd sneak a little cuddle. I'll make certain that Danielle isn't all pooey and grumpy. Still loves ya loads Merc.

Glad that you are feeling a bit better now Stroppy but I'm sorry that the infection count is high. I bet you do feel better after a shower. I know that I would.
Clever chips doing a rug like that. I can do cross stitch but I don't think that I could manage to do anything like a rug. I am knitting a lime green beanie type hat at the moment.
