a wee warning...don't brush yer teeth with Scholl cracked heel repair
Well, personally, I wouldn't - but the "magic ingredient" in cracked heel repair cream has been known to keep teeth white for at least two thousand years....

I wish I could see the archaelogists faces then...just a set of sparkly gnashers, & a 9-fingered skeleton

Thanks CB , you do wondeful things with felt though dont ya

I don't think that I would have the patience to do any patchwork. I am just happy with my knitting even though some knitting patterns drive me mad.
CB, I hope that you enjoy your nap.
I've just finished the baby hat that I was knitting and I must admit, it looks nice. This morning when I was town, I bought two balls of wool in a charity shop. It only cost £1.50 for both lots of wool. Think that I should get quite a few headbands made with that.
It's still very hot and sticky and oppressive here and I just wish that it cool down a lot.
Have been watching the Ashes Cricket and England are doing well. They've just got Australia all out. Watching the golf until Pointless comes on at 5.15.

We've still got sun and it is still oppressive both indoors and out. We've got all the windows open and we have just put a fan on to try and cool down. It's doing my head in at the moment. I just want to cool down and I also want a good night's sleep.

It's not dudes eating it all CB it's my littlies , never seen 5 kids demolish so much food in the space of an hour.
Had Alesha,Kaysha, lilybud plus 2 of their friends and they've eaten burgers, sausages, minted lamb chops, salmon skewers and new potato's then watermelon and ice-creams...................................looks like I'll have to do another shop tomorrow
Just dropped the pals off home and its still saying 30 and the cars been in the shade, other 3 are now causing chaos in the paddling pool and at this rate I may join them.
19-07-2013 7:20 PM
Stan, I know I've had a swim today but that was this morning. Can I join the paddling pool party please? My car was telling me it was mad hot at 10.15 this morning and I don't suppose it's much different now. We do have some cloud now but it's still uncomfortably hot.
19-07-2013 7:42 PM
LOL They now have a body srcub and flannel each and are lathering themselves in shower gel and running through the sprinkler so they don't have to have a bath.................................clever littlies cos it's not a bad idea to be fair to them
19-07-2013 7:46 PM
That's a good idea from the littlies Stan. It is a bit breezier here now but it's still hot. Oh I am so hot and fed up with it. Never mind though. There's always worse.

Evening
Sounds like fun Stan.
Been with FIL for his final scan before he's admitted on Monday. Poor guy still can't remember what is happening to him., Had his bag packed today when we arrived as he thought he was going in today

Aw that's sad. It must be awful. I'm going to a funeral next week of a lovely chap whose wife died about three or four years since. She had Alzheimer's. They only had one daughter who has Down's Syndrome. She's 54 now. She's had carer's living with her for a while whilst her dad was in care and then in hospital. We think that we have problems but when you hear of something like this, it makes you realise how lucky you are.

why do you keep your fan underground

Well I think I'm at the right end of the thread ........... not really sure because it keeps changing
Laughs at Merc & her "toothpaste"
Loving the quilt ........... don't you dare put it in a ufo box !! ......... thats the kind of thing I end up doing
seems as if TILLY does have white hair after all then Stan ..... Sorry ...... & thank you Stroppy for confirming it, it was really bothering me that I might give her the wrong colour hair
........ I know ... I'm very sad but thats me
Hopefully I will finally get her finished for next weeks MDCC
Happy knitting Books, its always nice to pick up a bargain ............ I think I've started knitting something new everyday this week ....... maybe next week I will even finish some of them
We got a phone call earlier today saying MIL may have had a stroke, now it seems it was most likely just heat related but with the possibity of it being a "mini storke" apparently the home were convinced thats what is was & dialled 999 but on arrival at hospital she had pulled round a lot, when asked by a consultant if she had been drinking, she said in a most indignant tone ... " I most certainly have not!" ..... he'd meant cold drinks because of the heat
When hosp were doing the standard tests I don't think she helped by insisting her Son was her husband & that she was in a hotel .... bless her, she has dementia & although she can reduce us tears at times she still makes us smile
We'll be going to see her tomorrow anyway & no doubt will probably have forgotten all about todays happening ...... or even deny it ever happened
