Snow on the Way

Hi rose, might be me being a bit strange, but I quite like the contrasts in the weather through the year. Obviously not the extremes that can be a hazard.  Man Happy

Yes i just thought i did not mean to scare anyone at all!!! when i put that. But here i just looked out the window and big black as night clouds are on there way over to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... Probably flood here now LOL.

I LOVE the snow cookie im crazy for it i cannot stop looking at it out the window and do not mind walking in it as long as im appropriately dressed. I got some cheapie wellies last year when it was bad and they were ok!!. I know weather is very hazardous for drivers and glad i do not drive. Its not nice so take care out there everyone who does drive. And older people who cannot get about so well.

Yippee!! Bring on the snow, I love it!! Being on the East coast we don't seem to get much. It's bitter cold here today and very windy, but sunny.

I'll join the No Thanks brigade as all it means to me is days of being house bound with no way out to the shops or work and normally no electric too

We rarely get a lot of snow as we are in a geographical basin formed by the Penines, but I hope that we don't get a lot as I may well end up in hospital if the nurses are unable to get out to me at home.

Snow on the Way

The snow was on the top of Blencathra last weekend ....

Its lovely to look out of the bedroom window to see it . However when it starts arriving nearer home it can be a problem. The roads into the village are never gritted and even though the nearest town is only just over 2 miles away it can be very tricky ...

I'm in the 'I hate snow' camp as well.  Where I live, the main roads are normally clear but it's getting to them either on foot or in the car.  The end of our drive slopes down towards the road so if it's icy, the car slides all over the place.  The wind has been terrible here today - it's been really biting.  We had rain as well this morning and it was nearly going in a horizontal direction.  We are going to do a food shop tomorrow afternoon so we will really stock up.  At least I can put some milk in the garage and it should keep it cool.

Hope that everyone stays safe and warm.

I hate snow with a passion.  I hate it even more when it freezes over.  The best place for snow is on a Christmas card and that's where it should stay.  Honestly, I'm beginning to sound really grumpy.  I'm not really - only when it snows.

I love snow too, so beautiful and so quiet too,  We walk neighbours dogs when it snows so get plenty of exercise, and as we have a 4x4 we end up doing their shopping as well, we don't mind and enjoy doing our bit. We are in a village so there is a good spirit, don't normally loose power, but we have plenty of candles and torches.

Doubt if we will get it though we usually get rain when everyone else gets snow.

Snow on the Way

It's been a beautiful day today.  Blue sky and sunny but a little windy and cold.

We don't usually get much snow here although the last year or two we have.

I love it.  I love watching it fall and I love seeing the landscape so beautiful and clean and sparkly.

I don't like the fact that it makes walking and driving so hazardous.  I don't have to go out in it but other people do.Smiley Sad

Do you snow haters really not get that childish 'it's snowing' feeling when it starts? I know it's a pain if you have power cuts etc but if you drive really slowly it's ok. Mind you I fell over last year and didn't like that much but I had the wrong shoes on.

We used to be like that ed with the rain as opposed to snow.  In winter, I wish we had a 4 x 4 so that we could at least get out for a food shop.  We have brilliant neighbours.  The couple over the road sometimes do bits of shopping for us and a chappy up the road is good as well and always checks that we are alright on a regular basis.  One set of nextdoor neighbours look after us as well.  We are very lucky.
