Seems I am doing it again,
For anyone who hasn't seen it before, or those with very bad memories, I'll refresh the rules.
Secret Santa is a bit of fun for Christmas that most people who join in seem to enjoy.
You send your name, address, likes and dislikes in a message to me (via that little grey envelope up there ^ ^ ) then at the beginning of December I will jumble them all together and send you each the details of one other member.
You then use the information given to buy or make them a Christmas gift to the value of £5. (unless the majority feel it should be a little higher now, due to inflation, but that can be discussed as we go along)
I'll tell you your victim recipient at the beginning of December and that should give you all time to prepare it for posting shall we say around the 15th, to allow plenty of time to arrive at it's destination and to be put under the tree, (or hidden by partners for those amongst you who can't resist a little sticky beaking!! You know who you are!!)
I think that's all, but if not I'm sure someone will remind me.

There are 19 up to now ed. There used to be about 30 or 35 but as you know, quite a few peeps have done a bunk. Cowards the lot of 'em!!

Just need to keep the thread at the top of the list then. It sounds like great fun. We do one at work and we get some fab prezzies.

I'll start a new thread in a week or ten days to do a poll of how much people want to spend. It's always been £5. It could go up slightly, down slightly or stay the same.

that's nice Ed, they're too miserable in our place to join in anything like that. It would just be our dept after I'd bullied the beejeebers out of 'em!!
do you guys dress up at Christmas? mind you, who'd see you guys at 4am....same for us, I do sometimes but I'm usually on my own, and feeling a right prat!!

Sorry we are misery guts when it comes to dressing up, when you get up at 2 thats the last thing you want to do. In our place the ones who dress up always seem to get an easy day, running around and giggleing, comparing outfits etc. never seem to do any work.
Because we are such a small department we join with the stock control lot when we do secret santa, but everyone joins in so that's nice. All the other departments do it too,

Our morale in our store is low, with staff not being replaced, no overtime and everyone having to do three things at once, and being told when to enjoy ourselves. But our department has been together for about 6 years so we get on ok.

Lumpy, thumpy, clumpy, humpy, rumpy pumpy, dumpy, jumpy BUMPY!
BUMP, that's what I was looking for.
No more takers for some Frivolous Festive Fun??
08-11-2013 11:29 PM
How many so far CG?
08-11-2013 11:37 PM
Nineteen Maggie, although perhaps a twentieth one will appear from somewhere. wink wink say no more!
It's early days yet though, often people rush in at the last moment or just after closing and I squeeze them in. It doesn't make any difference how many there are though as we only need three to be able to swap presents, it's just more fun if there are more.

I thought Rhubarb was number 20? I hope we get some more.
09-11-2013 12:04 AM
Well perhaps she is Maggie, you caught me out I just said what I thought was the last number without looking! You're right Maggie, she is!!
There's time yet. I thought I'd bump it up for the weekend.

I think either people don't want to bother this year or they think it's a bit too early yet. It's surprising, the number of people who turn up after the closing date and ask if it's too late to join in.
