Thanks books.
Daughter just got in a meeting today (just after 1 pm) and the school rang, off she went to bring her home in tears again!
If mine went up they just increased the dose. I had to get it done every week. (every day at first!) !!

Because my mum's blood has thinned too much ie the INR ( the term they use for the warfarin level), they have reduced the dosage. We can't go back next week as the nurse who does the warfarin blood tests is on holiday so that's why we have to go back the week after. Fingers crossed that it's come down to within level.

Oh I see, what you mean now. I know all about INR numbers and the little card you get every week from the warfarin clinic! It was handy when I couldn't get to see the nurse because the next door neighbour used to take the blood and hubby take the vial to the doctors! It's handy having a nurse for a neighbour!
My daughter phoned and granddaughter is to be admitted (to the NHS hospital) at 9.30 tomorrow morning as a private patient because the chap they saw this evening will be there tomorrow, and he said she's not leaving until they find out what's wrong!

I hope that they find out what the problem is with your granddaughter CG.
The nurse at our doctor's does my mum's warfarin blood test and she gets the results back straight away. This way, it bypasses the warfarin clinic.

Oh CG poor child and her Mum must be worried witless. I hope they manage to sort her out. You'll keep us updated? Pretty shocking way for the NHS to treat such a young girl, I am so sorry.

It is a pity when you have to pay to get sorted out. They don't mind, obviously but it's not fair that people who haven't got insurance and can't afford it just get sent home with a 'we don't know what's wrong, see if it still hurts after a week or two!'
Thanks for your good wishes books and rainy.

You're most welcome CG. I hope that they soon find out what the problem is. I don't like it one tiny bit when youngsters aren't well.

CG - hope that they sort out what is wrong with granddaughter very quickly. How is Chickengrandpa doing?
Well greivance hearing at work took the whole of 5 minutes. Union rep pointed out that this is a very sinple, very straightforward single issue - that they didn't pay my sick pay as stated in my contract. They have been provided wih copies of my contract and the relevant sick pay scheme already (several times), so is nothing more to say.
Union rep says that the management are breaking the law by saying that we can't speak to our union rep in works time. He is also encouraging me to take the organisation to a tribunal to get them to pay the annual increments I should have had, also the nationally agreed pay rises that they have never paid.

I hope that you get everything sorted soon Stroppy.

Thanks stroppy, hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it now, she's crying in pain every day!
Chickengrandpa is not too good really. He gets a lot of pain in his stomach and can't eat much any more.
He's still up and about but just does his stamps, watches TV and plays solitaire on his computer. He's not up to much else.
I hope you get all this sorted stroppy, you've got enough on your plate without all these other problems too. Let's hope the union can help get it sorted.

CG, I hope that Chickengrandpa feels a little better soon. I hope he can manage his new chucks. Everything seems to go wrong at once unfortunately. (((((CG and Family)))))

He got a dozen stan. He goes down at abour 9 or 10 to let them into the run and checks they have food and water and collects the eggs, then he goes down about 4.30, just as it's getting dark, and closes them up. Apart from cleaning them out once a week, that's all he has to do for them.

Still nice for him to know they are there, plus yummy eggs for brekkie ..............bonus xx

Well, it's been a strange day.
For the first time in months and months I didn't have my weekly trip to the operating theatre. Took 3 doctors and 4 nurses to manage to change the dressing - they are all unsure what to do with this new pump
but
It seems to be working - "the hole" is smaller.
