"Himself" has just come in and said that my car has been broken into and the sat nav has been stolen. Whilst it is annoying it can be replaced.

It will have to wait for the morning to see how much damage they have done,

It really does annoy me whent things like that happen.  The thieves should have their hands chopped off.  If they had that as a threat, there wouldn't be as many thefts.  I'd definitely report Stroppy as ed says.

I'll see what damage there is - if I am going to have to make an insurance claim I will report it as I will need a crime number, but otherwise I won't bother. The police will just say that it was our fault for leaving the sat-nav in the car. It wasn't visible, it was in the drawer under the seat and there was no tell tale ring from the suction cup on the windscreen, so it must have just been opportunistic.

Morning all.  Good luck with claiming over the missing sat nav Stroppy. 

It's autumnal again this morning but we do have a little breeze about as well.  I don't mind autumn but winter I hate with a vengeance.

Well, I am glad to say that there is absolutely no damage to the car. Whilst I haven't delved through absolutely every nook and cranny, nothing appears to be missing except the sat-nav. They even missed the "emergency" cash that I keep in the car.

The door locks are all working perfectly, no smashed windows so I have been very lucky - just a minor inconvenience and I probably won't bother replacing the sat-nav as it had only been used once this year.

Nice bright morning - I am going back to bed now as I hardly slept last night.

Stroppy its good no damage has been done but a crime has been committed so personally i would report it .

  You don't know if there may be a finger print or something to help catch the thief who may have stolen more from another car down the road .  They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it !

How did they get into the car then Stroppy? I have been to the docs about my back & she prescribed more pain killers & exercise. No surprises there! I could have been referred to physio but I said not to bother. I know & am doing the exercises & it takes forever to get an appointment anyway. I am to go back in a month if no better! It's been six weeks already. Oh & I got told off for taking Ibuprofen! lol Oh well, onwards & upwards!

Stroppy forgive me for being thick but if the windows and locks are ok how did they break in?

Maggie I am going to see my physio next week as my back has got very stiff over the past couple of weeks. I just have to ring the physio for an appointment I don't need to go through the doctor. I suppose all surgeries are different.

Had a hefty shower at 7 this morning but it didn't last long. Blue sky now bit chilly though.

I have absolutely no idea how they got in. I am wondering if "himself" had accidentally left it unlocked - no way to know.

I had a car stolen years ago and there was no sign of broken glass. Apparantly they opened the door with a key just a car key not the actual key.
Nice they used it to get home and used a brick wall to stop it. Charming. It was written off.

Raining this morning and chilly but suns shining madly now!!!!. Beenhoovering and wiping my wood Floor,,fairly tuckered me out. Im going to have to nick a mophead as i cant bend down, my head feels like it is going to explode if i do it too much!!!!!. Cleaned my Kitchen Floor too,,at least its done!!!!.

I had a car stolen a good few years ago.  It was an old and I mean old Ford Escort.  It was reported to the police who rang me up the following day to tell me that my car had been found on the outskirts of town.  I don't know how they'd got in but they'd used an old key to start it and the key had broken in the ignition.  I managed to get that bit of the key out and everything was fine.  I think that whoever had taken it just wanted to get home with a whole heap of shopping as it was only about three weeks before Christmas.  No damage was done to the car thankfully.  I know that it was an old wreck but it was the first car I owned.

will say the old cars were so easy to break into all you needed was a similar key or even just a piece of wire then hot wire it and away to go.

A lot harder now adays with alarms and central looking however there are devices that you can use to reprogramme the car so it unlocks itself these are usually used by pro's though who steal expensive/high powered cars to order.
Hate to say it stroppy but if it's only the sat nav missing and no damage sounds like an opportunist as the car was un locked.

Sorry you got a scolding Maggie and hope the back heals soon as been going on a while for you now
