Saw the quack about my knee. Wife's appointment but she insisted I come first, otherwise it would take too long to set me up for one myself. Seemed to know what she was talking about and told me I was too old to be playing rugby - I'm 66 next month. Went bananas when I told her how I was treating it - with a hot water bottle - it should be an ice pack! Well, I'm not all that up on sweetcorn anyway
. Wife bought an Ice pack from Tesco's. Not a fit man - I keep falling asleep every ten minutes. Stomach chill too. Can only jusst make it in time - no solids - just water. Not the least bit hungry.. At least I'm not at work.
Sorted that non-payer woman out once and for all - it's down to eBay now she's on my B/B list for a starter. She has four days to react before they take it further.. Sad, but as I said, I'm nobody's fool.
Gonnna lie dow now - I'm tired. 8.00pm, 9pm, 11pm11pm, then1a.m 2a.m 3a. and 5am to the loo Might force myself to have some Weetabix later Catch you later..

Oh dear Frederick, you are having a rough time, do take it easy and give yourself time to heal. Try to keep an eye on your glucose levels, it's always such a worry when you can't keep food inside you when you are diabetic, if you become too sleepy or start getting confused please call for help sooner rather than later. Get well soon

I've had a good solid five hours sleep, which has worked wonders - swelling on my knee is going down so I can just about hobble round without using crutches. Stomach chill clearing up too. Forced myself to have a couple of slices of toast so that can't be bad. Best thing of all though, I'm no longer falling asleep every ten minutes. I'm wide awake so I'll be able to turn in normal time and hopefully, be able to sleep through the night. It makes the day so long when you're up one-o-clock, three-o-clock, five-o-clock in the morning. Ok, so it's only for a few minutes each time but when that happens, your sleep pattern is broken, or when you try to turn in early, you do fall asleep, and then you'll wake up at two in the morning and your mind will whir away for the next hour worrying about how you're going to pay this bill and that. That's why I don't normally turn in until half-twelve. That way I'll sleep through the night.
Still no real appetite but tomorrow morning I'll be having a poached egg on a slice of toast and a cup of tea. Health-wise I go down very quickly, but I also recuperate in record time
Thanks for your concern - I never realised I had so many friends out there (((hugs))).

We are all here to support one another in here Frederick. 🙂

Had a very sound sleep - right through till half six. Still on crutches though not as bad as the other day. Stomach chill has all but cleared up. Had a phone call from Ramsgate Council about my camera. No, it hadn't been handed in. The man was so apologetic about it - told me he hoped Ramsgate had not gone down in my estimation. I'll put up on my Wish List - I'll happily go a score to get a replacement. Even happier if it's mine! I'd recogonise it immediately, along with the black case. Like two identical cars, you'd know instantly which one was yours.
Anyway, I'm feeling a lot better now. Thanks, everybody, Fred.

Take it easy, Fred - but glad to know you're starting to feel better: don't over do it, though - and good luck with the camera!

Good news about my knee Been out without my crutches today! Felt strange at first - almost too used to using them.
Not running around like a seven year-old yet, but it's a start: Got to go over to te island (Sheppey) to get it checked out next week. I don't feel it's necessary but they're the experts, knowing everything about leg joints, so I'll listen carefully to what they have to saysmileyhappy:
Trying decafinated teabags. Nurse told my daughter to have then and cut out dairy products like cheese and to used skimmed milk instead of semi skimmed. Yes, she's type 2 as well - follows after her Dad in that respect (sigh). I loved nothing more than making her macaroni cheese when we used to go down to see my late father at Eastbourne, but now I can't do it. She's very strong that way.
Getting back to the teabags I feel they actually make a better cup of tea. No deposit clinging to the edge of the cup of floating on the surface, and it actually tastes better and the cup is a lot easier to clean. My wife has started to use them as well. I'm not going to throw my normal teabags away - I'll still use them but won't bother replacing them once they're finally gone.

Hooray! Great news, Fred - next thing, we'll be seeing you scoring goals in Brazil 😉

Would that be associated football or Rugby football? NO THANK YOU!! I cannot STAND the game.
My boarding school had two games - during the summer it was cricket where regardless of what the outdoor temperature was you had to wear a white sweater - and it was a sweater in every way! And to accompany it you had to wear this ridiculous straw boater with a couple of pinsized airholes which acted as a suntrap. Your head used to be absolutely soaked in sweat. One particular game I remember was when a furious altercation took place between the umpire - a schoolmaster, and the leading batsman, a senior pupil, over the umpire's decision. There was no love lost between these two - this kid had an axe to grind. The air came close to turning blue at one stage.
"The umpire's decision is final!" He replied sharply. "If you want to do maths for the rest of the afternoon, that's fine with me, boy!" My God, that was like a red flag to a bull! Up went the boy's right arm and to riotous applause replied:
"Right - that's it lads. Everybody off! We're doing maths for the rest of the afternoon!" The boy was carried off shoulder high.
There was hell to pay, but of course the last bit is the best bit: it was officially proven the next morning that the umpire was incorrect!

Ha ha ha FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO FRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

That's fantastic :-D! My brothers had to play at school - they both tended to come home with reports commenting that they would do better if they stayed in the same county as the ball... I don't mind listening to a test macth if I'm ironing (I find it quite soothing) but as for the other games - pah!

Glad that you're feeling better Fred.
Admits to quite liking cricket. I also like golf and tennis as well. The only sport I do partake in though is swimming. In this weather, it's brilliant as the water is lovely and cool.

When I am asked to put my interests or hobbies I always put "Non-competative outdoor pursuits". This country is far too sports orientated. If we channelled our efforts on putting the "GREAT" back into Great Britain I'd be the first to join the queue. Regarding being kicked out of the World Cup so early on, I think we should change the National Anthem to "Show me the way to go home...."
