Just got back a while ago from the doctors. I had a chat and she thinks its best not to take propanolol but to up my dose of Amitriptyline. So im taking 30mg now at night,i have to start taking 40mg a night for 2 weeks then if thats ok it will go up to 50mg. And we will see if its any better. Doctor said she believes in sticking to one tablet rather than take something else aswell. I told her i was not keen on HRT and she did not push it or say i should try it. I explained about the head rushy feeling on getting up in the morning when i have a Migraine brewing and i said my Blood pressure had been taken by the doctor before and was ok. She took it and it was slightly up and took it again before i left the surgery and it was perfect. Its stormy today and since i came back ive got a bit of headache now LOL.
We will just have to see if that makes any improvement.
If you don't get any joy Rose ask your doctor to refer you to the Princess Margaret Rose Migraine Clinic at the Charing Cross hospital. I found them to be excellent as they are experts in that field. Not convinced that Princess Margaret was a migraine sufferer though. With her reputation it was probably a hangover 😊

Have only just got back to this thread for some reason. Now I don't mind being called an elephant and I'm surprised I'm seen as an elder (again as rainy said, not in an age way) but I think I have a bone to pick with someone for a couple of comments.

let's hope the upping the meds works for you Rose, you need some peace from those nasty migraines. Luckily I get very few now. Used to get two every month, but once the osteopath had a go at me they went!
I am very light sensitive though, I get bad headaches with the sunshine. I have to wear my sunglasses all the time.

. I did not mean in anyway to offend you when i said that it was meant in a lovely way and you are lovely. That walking stick picture is LOL,,soo LOL FUNNY!!.
RIGHT,,,after coming home from the doctors i actually had a Migraine start,it was stormy here and that effects me aswell,,as i told the doctor. Thinking it was not a Migraine i did not take the Imigran,,result i was sick and bad all afternoon and all night finally falling asleep at3.30am!!. I took the four Amitriptyline last night but it was in the middle of being sick. They stayed in and then i was sick about half an hour after so dont know if they counted. We shall start again tonight. Doctor said i can take Imigran 3 days in a row if i want(i normally take only one per day if i have a Migraine). And i still take Imigran if i need them even thought they have upped my other medication. I did not go into work this morning as i felt awful. Ive gone into work enough times when i have been ill so today they can stick it!!
I shall see how i am and go back to the docs if im still getting them.
