It's a year ago Thursday she had her op to have a new cruciate ligament in her knee. She has to go to the vet's tomorrow, I think she's done the other one!!:_|
Looks like we'll both be on crutches at the same time.:O

Oh dear, poor Lottie! 😞

Bless her. At least she isn't carrying all that weight now she is a new, slimmer Lottie.:-D

Awwww poor girl. Jingles is getting better now with his. And has just a few more vet checks.

No, I've managed to keep the weight off her Maggie (weighed her yesterday just to make sure!) Can't say the same for me:-(, anyway, they're gone at the moment.

Well, they don't hang about. Last year she went the first time, then was booked in for an Xray a week or so later, then was booked in for the op a week or so later. This time she's booked in Monday, she'll have the Xray and if it's the ligament they'll carry on and do it. 😐

Shame the NHS isn't the same! 😉

Ooh! They're smart crutches mercs, I'll put in an order for some of those!:^O
I'm pretty certain she will need an op capt., she can hardly walk today. It seems to have come on much quicker than the other one did, and the muscle in the first one has never returned to full strength. It's having a job to support her for long.:-(

Awww poor lottie give her an extra fuss from me pleases CG
03-04-2013 7:15 PM

You sure you don't just want a physiotherapy opponent?

It's not funny is it. Animals can have the biggest of ops and they're up and out in the field as soon as they wake up. I hope hubby doesn't expect the same of me.:-(
(It'll be cold in that field!:_|)

One of my dogs is booked in to have the same op tomorrow. 😞 His other cruciate went 2 years ago and he was operated on then. Like yours CG, his leg never got back to full strength, and now the poor little mite has to go through it again. 6 to 8 weeks recovery! :_|
04-04-2013 12:33 PM
I mean like your dog's leg, not yours. 😄
04-04-2013 1:35 PM
Good luck to him roofie.:-D I'm glad it's not just her that's first leg didn't get back to full strength. She seems to be in a worse state this time because that weaker leg can't compensate for the poorly one as well as it the other one could, last time. IYSWIM.
Let us know how he gets on.:-)

CG - my OH only had a zimmer for 2 days, and then 2 sticks. He can now, 6 weeks later, walk round the block, about a mile, with one stick no problem. He says he is so glad he's had it done.
As for little Lottie - aaaw that's too bad, although since she is now carrying less weight, maybe she will heal more quickly this time, hope so 🙂
