SCAM: PET OWNERS BEWARE:
A friend has just forwarded this to me. She lives in Buckinghamshire but its content is relevant to all areas.
*** WARNING *** Please be aware of this scam and let any of your pet owning friends know too!
We have read reports that people are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be ringing on behalf of their vets and asking what animals they have in the house. We are assuming that the information is being used by "steal to order" gangs looking for valuable pets or those than can be used for baiting. Please be aware that Windmill Veterinary Centre would NEVER ring you to ask that question, as we already hold that information on our records. (We don't believe that any other vet would do so either).
So, should you receive a call of this type, please don't give any details away.
