I have had my posting ID restricted - because I had the audacity of telling a "fellow ebayer" who has opened numerous new accounts on one day - purely to do off site deals regarding kitchens - that he was not allowed to advertise on these boards and also not allowed to open many new accounts to do so. Because I did this the powers that be decided that IT WAS ME who was spamming the boards. I have to say I am gutted that I have been restricted but that it is perfectly "OK" to open new accounts to advertise selling off this site. I then received a survey to complete so I let rip and told them exactly what I thought of this site.
It was news to me that from September they are now going to take 10% of the total price INCLUDING P&P = why should they take money for P&P - it is bad enough as it is and the owners of this site dont even have anything to do with the postage side of things. They are going to loose many many sellers as this will be the final nail in the coffin.
Even when they advertise on TV they only show the "big boys" - no mention of the fact that you can get a second hand bargain or hand crafted stuff that you cant buy in the shops ie jewellery - like it used to be in the good old days.
I also keep getting adverts on my facebook page extolling the virtues of the sellers of new items.
If I want anything new I will go to my local shops now
I do think that Ebay has gone seriously down hill and the powers that be are just money grabbing men in suits
Rant over and I hope that what is known as CUSTOMER SERVICES will see that I was trying to point out that off site selling is not allowed. I have even suggested that they spend some of their time looking through the discussion boards and answer centre to actually see what the problems are and try and do something about it BEFORE problems arise.
In Britain a "proper" company has to have a bricks and mortar address/registered office for legal reasons. They insist that we give them full addresses - but they dont do the same themselves

This is a general nattering board. You would be better posting your complaints on the Buyer or Sellers boards. You might get some advice from there.

Hmmm I think you have other clothes on to post this and am so sorry this has happened as they are continuing to spam the boards.........................by the way how is tintin the ginger cat that you have

Thanks Stan....Tintin is very well - just moping about and sad to think that she did all she could to stop these spammers but that Tintin got a smack on the paws for doing the right thing. I noticed they had spammed the boards again this morning with two more new accounts so I have got on to customer services again. I only use a posting ID so that certain ebayers (and not the ones on the FHG board) cannot wreck my auctions as I do advise on the answer centre as well.
Tintin will now slink back in shame - shame on Ebay!!!!

I have just been reporting their threads as advertising & they have been removed.

You should appeal that restriction - email Alan the Community Pink (alan_uk@ebay.com) - though I gather he's not around today.

I have tried to appeal this through customer services but as usual they are as useful as a chocolate teapot. I am glad others have reported these Kitchen adverts - but still gutted that it is me and not them that has been restricted.
Hopefully - and it is a very slight chance - that if customer services sees that others have reported them as will then maybe my restriction will be lifted. It's not as if mine is a new account - it is a year old with many posts recorded against it and a thumbs up sign on the answer centre.
I was tempted to open another account but realise that that would probably affect my proper selling account as well.
I will be back under my posting ID soon - i hope LOL

They can't restrict your account for just reporting threads that infringe their rules. That is what the report facility is there for.

I have now sent an email to Alan and completely "let rip". Unfortunately CS are totally blind when it comes to noticing something that is so obvious even a blind man could see it. I would have thought that opening so many new accounts in such a short period of time would have immediately been flagged up as odd....hey ho such is life. I will use this account to post in the future. Knowing my luck they will place a restriction on this one as well!!!!!!! Many thanks for your support though and it is appreciated that others have complained about these off site deals.

Think most of us have ' hit the button ' and hopefully Alan can sort it out for you but do know he can sometimes take a couple of days to reply.
I use this ID to sell , post and respond in the AC and fingers crossed since the boards changed the time before last hav'nt had a problem so you should be OK.

I have been hitting the button as well. On some of them I have also posted that they have been reported.
Have only seen the kitchen ones and one advertising work with the kitchen guy, not seen the call girl ones yet.

Not sure 'letting rip' will help. Just stay calm & put your case foreward.
