I know its not a seasonal thing right now but i got to watching Most Haunted again last night on Catch up as i saw one on telly the other night and it scared the Bejeeebers out of me!!!!!. It was about cells where they put witches under a court house or something and i put it on halfway through when they were calling out to these witches and they were getting all these horrible spooky sounds back!!!!!. I know maybe some could think it could be put on but it cannot all be fake surely??. What do others think?.

CG I have had quite a few unexplained ghostly things happen in my life & I am an athiest. Like one of the previous posts the sound of children running around upstairs when I was a child. My sister & I would be sound asleep but mum & several other people would hear running feet above the bar. (we lived in an old pub) Coathangers from the wardrobe all over the floor when nobody was around. The pub doors being unbolted from inside overnight. I also had a strange experience the day after I lost my hubby but I can't bring myself to write it.

Hi Rose. I think the programme is definatley fake. Entertaining though! I love it when Yvette gets her brave pants on & summons spirit to contact. & then, slightest little happening, she screams her head off! & as for the "witch" episode.. They simply wouldn"t do that. They should do a "most haunted" at my house or workplace. I would love to see what they conjure up. lol

Gullible people do believe it's real though. They should say at the end of the programme that it's just fiction.

The program is pure entertainment nothing more. I know from experience 'ghosts' don't just appear when we want them to so they can be filmed .
I have mentioned before that my mother was a spiritualist medium so i really do believe in spirit .

Totally agree Patch. RE the coat hangers... a few weeks ago, at work.. a whole big stack of them just flew accross the room off the tumble dryer. & I mean, FLEW. They didn"t just fall off. Each to their own beliefs, I am spiritualist wiccan. No doubt someone will have their "rational" explanations but I have experienced & seen with my own eyes too much to put things down to just coincidence.

Well said! They definatley DO NOT! My Mum was Spiritualist medium too. If spirit come to you, It"s for a reason. xx

I take it people have had them come with a spiritualist then?. I know there is a difference between Clairvoyants, Mediums and spiritualists?. Which is the best?, and how would you know their fake??. I know some things would be obvious but there must be real ones who get through surely??.

and how would you know their fake
Simple they all are.
That doesn't mean all are dishonest, some genuinely believe they have a gift though they are deluding themselves, they may have Sherlock Holmes' gift for learning a lot about people from those subtle clues that all people give out.
Others of course are in it for the money, it's worrying that even when they are exposed, people continue to believe in them.

I don't agree. One ghost I saw in a place where I worked was the ghost of a small child dressed in rags. A short time later another staff member saw a group of ghost children and he heard them singing a particular and old fashioned nursery rhyme. The poor man was petrified and begged me to believe him and what he had seen and heard. I told him that our two sightings were likely linked.
A few years later, long after I had left my job in that place and moved to another part of UK, a medium singled me out sat right at the back of a spiritualist church and told me about some children that were 'with me'. As I did not know any deceased children personally I said that the message was probably not meant for me. But then he went on and told me what they were wearing, that they were from a past century and the nursery rhyme they sang.....I've never been so utterly gobsmacked.
How could he have possibly known?

Does anyone remember the late Doris Stokes? I used to watch her TV shows and buy her books, but I always felt she came across as fake. There was just something about her that didnt ring true. She still fascinated me though.

Hmmmm.. I dont want to believe as it scares me.
However something happened years ago that I can't explain. My friend and I were shopping in town, we had walked to the top which took us past the old Civic Hall when we decided to go in and check what bands were playing in the next few weeks.
Unknown to us at that moment was some kind of Spiritualist Medium guy who was talking to an audience.
We decided to sneek in for a bit of a laugh.
He started off really cliche asking if any one knew a George..etc.. We rolled our eyes at each other and continued to find it all quite amusing. Then halfway through, he pointed to my friend and started asking her questions.. Has her fridge been playing up lately (which it had) Had she been experiencing the lights flickering in the house (which she had).. He said that it were her Nan. He asked her if she knew anyone older whose name began with a B. She answered no, and after that he moved on to someone else.
We sat there bewildered.
When she got home she rang her Mum, not telling her anything but asked if her she knew and older person begining with B and her Mum said her Nan's best friend was called Beatrice

How could he have possibly known?
He didn't , he talked you into believing he did, simple magician's technique, you can see how it's done here,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8EqdUYqlpY
Note too how the man whose reading was tape recorded still believes despite the clear evidence of the vagueness of the reading in the transcript.

He got a hit, had the answer been no, he would have moved on to something else.
Had she been experiencing the lights flickering in the house (which she had)
A common experience and again a hit.
He said that it were her Nan.
He could have said it was anybody who was unlikely to be alive.
He asked her if she knew anyone older whose name began with a B. She answered no,
No hit so he quickly moves on.
We sat there bewildered.
You had just had the oracle performed on you by a quick talker.

I have been to a Clairvoyant who knew things that she could not have possibly known about.. How would you explain that??. I even went to that thing where you choose 3 different coloured bottles with 2 colours in. She told me a lot like i had a tattoo of a man in the moon on my back and i have never seen her before and i was dressed up to my neck so she could not have possibly seen it!!.????
SPOOKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have been to a Clairvoyant who knew things that she could not have possibly known about.
But she didn't, she fooled you into thinking she did, it's simple trickery, you can actually be taught how to do it should you be so inclined.
Stage magicians do amazing tricks but when you watch them you know they are going to try and fool you and no matter how amazing, you know it's trickery, however if you believed in magic you might think they had actually done something really magical.
Should you be prepared to believe in a clairvoyant, you won't see the trickery so go away thinking they really have come out with amazing revelations.

I so agree with you Bank. Most are just charlatons, out to make money from gullible people. I/we see right through them when they show their "skills" on tv! I could name & shame all of them!

Quite possibly Bank.. Like I said, I'm not really a believer..
However as we were teenagers at the time it wasn't that likely that her Nan would be dead.
