Mondays, moorish, mouthwatering morsels.

Tonight we are having Chicken a la leftovers with Brussels sprouts, carrots and peas, followed by a small Christmas pudding I have just discovered in the back of the cupboard.

I am with you CG, the liver I have is never tough either but I usually pan fry it quickly then put it in the onion gravy and slow cook it that way it just melts in your mouth.

agree with you there ed.we either buy pigs liver and ask butcher to slice thin and then flash fry it and eat with fried onions and bacon etc or flash fry and then place in oven for 1 1/2 hours to slow cook. but no liver should be tough

i had pasta bake tonight and oh had cornbeef hash. both had garlic bread with it.

I have never met so many people in one place who like liver, hardly anyone I know likes it, except grumpy chops sorry OH.

Know what you mean about the windies with the dogs, we were told to make treats out of liver for dog training, boy oh boy woudn't do that again.

I have tried and tried to eat liver, but I really cannot stand the texture. The only way that I can eat it is minced and mixed in to something like bolognese.

"Him indoors" likes liver - coat in seasoned flour, flash fry just to seal it then in the slow cooker with some thin gravy - usually lambs liver.

Liver isn't tough unless dry & overcooked but it can be strong. That's why I stick to lambs.

Yes you can but you have to get it from a butcher that deals in game, I have my own deer so when they are culled the liver& kidneys are fresh, it's quite an acquired taste delicate & gamey lovely in venison& game casseroles& of course game pies.

When you think what a small proportion of an animal the liver or kidney is, you'd think they'd be more expensive!  Smiley Surprised

A lot of people won't eat offal though. I expect that's why it's cheap.

Well we had Red Thai Chicken Curry with Lemon Coriander Basmati Rice made a load on Sunday sooooo had the rest tonight MOH also had a slice of smoked haddock with it too.  Mmmmm wish I had made more and froze it, but the freezer doesn't have a lot of room an the moment... note to self use the freezer first.

I love venison stew, but I could not get any unadulterated venison over Crimbo, I like to add a bit into a steak pie too.
