Am I really the only one that neither loves it or hates it???

Well I dont think I love it. I fancy it every now and again, I like to keep it in the fridge for when i do. It is very handy for making vegetarian gravy when non meat eating friend comes to dinner.
I do think the people who absolutely hate it, have been given it plastered on like chocolate spread at some time in their life. in fact the adverts seem to slather it on. Its a strong flavour and I like a thin scraping. I often put it straight on the toast and the butter over it as its easier. Love the new rescue ads. They are absolutely brilliant.
I'm going back 30 odd years now, but I suffered with nausea to gone 6months when I was expecting my youngest. All I fancied was toast with marmite (no butter) and cold baked beans which had to be mashed on top of the marmite. I have no idea (does anyone ever?) why it was so specific, and I seemed to need it before every meal, but once I'd eaten that, I seemed to get my appetite back and then could eat normally.
Oh and nice to see that marmite is no longer on the banned word list. For any of our present mods reading this, someone managed to convince the old mods years back, that it was a very naughty word - it isn't and to the best of my knowledge has never had other meanings?

Hot buttered toast, marmite, baked beans and grated cheese on top.... lovely!

The only other meaning for the word marmite, as far as I know, angrydragon, is where it got it's name from and has a picture of one on the jar, and that's a cooking pot.
